2025-02-14 18:28:19 +0000 UTCHere's a little story that hopefully can keep your mind entertained (for at least a minute). In one of your comments a few weeks back, you mentioned Q-Sound on CD. I never heard of such a thing, so of course I had to pick one up on eBay (Madonna Immaculate Collection). I played it on my home deck, and though it sounded great, I really didn't know what to listen for. I played it in my car (with 4 speakers) and thought- well not bad, though I really didn't know what I should expect. Anyway, a few days later I went to this local second-hand store and noticed a boombox there for $9. I would get it only if the CD player worked. So I went back to my car to get the madonna CD (it was the only CD in the car) and played it in the store. Not only did it work, but a LED indicator light went on the boombox. Next to the light was labeled, "Virtual Stereo, Q-Sound". What are the odds?! So of course I picked this up. And you know, it sounds quite interesting, unlike "wide" settings on some boomboxes, where instruments of a song are blended, here they are more individualized. All in all, very happy with these coincidences. Thanks for sparking my min-venture with that short comment you mentioned to some other patreon. And oh, the boombox is an Aiwa CA-DW246.
