Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice isn't really a Souls Game

Guys..Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice isn't really a Souls Game...

..and that's okay!

It retains a ton of identity from Souls, and is abandoning some concepts in order to innovate in other areas. That's why i'm excited.

Shortly after our first video, a ton of new info came out - and the discussion around this info definitely warrants a discussion.

Enjoy! Can't wait to read all the comments on this one - I bet there are a ton of other angles I haven't considered.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice isn't really a Souls Game

As an aside, they never quite got the hang of making a powerful character customizer that wasn't a pain in the ass to use. They still used that old FaceGen technology all the way through. Dark Souls 3 in particular had a weird face set as a base that made it nearly impossible to make something that really looked good.

If jumping and movement are going to be more important now, does that mean they're finally going to fix the awful platforming of Dark Souls? Is there a dedicated jump button now?

The fact that we won't make our own character(with no character customization) is really interesting for me, since it's somehow the most important difference between Sekiro and Soulsborne imo. I think with making our own character the interaction between the player and the world of the game was really unique in Soulsborne, and that unique interaction that I felt between me and the game was one of the best things in Miyazaki's games for me. So if he can make/keep this special interaction in Sekiro even with a huge difference like no character customization, I'll be really satisfied with the game. :D Really excited to see what he wants to do with all these changes.
