Greetings, and welcome back, everyone!
In this next set we visit the Pilgrim's Peak, a monastery of ritualistic significance to the folks of these far-flung plains. At the crown of these thousand steps are rumored to be salvation and peace - that is, unless one believes the translation that says it's instead the beginning of another thousand steps, each one then twice as plentiful as a fistful of sand.
There is no way of telling, and the chieftains who make their seasonal camps in these ruins are taciturn and tight-lipped. The unfaithful are glowered at from tower to tower, and there are already rumors that the treacherous deserts beyond these walls are preferable for some than the treachery within...
Also included in this set is a map of Buried Towers. Made for random encounters, these are the various sand-dusted tips of cities slumbering beneath the rolling hills of the desert:
