Wazukyan is what I'd describe as a utilitarian, someone who weighs their decisions on a scale based on what is more useful to the most amount of people without thought of the human rights of those he sacrifices, namely Irumyuui in this case. In my opinion he's a monster. He decided to sacrifice somebody, even if it was the benefit for the whole, against their will and takes advantage of a young girls most fervent desire. I don't think anybody has the right to take advantage of another person's suffering in order to save themselves or others.
I believe you're correct that Irumyuui's wish was to become a mother, to give birth. Sadly her children appear similar to the pet she had before. I think that this is because she doesn't know what a baby looks like. I'm assuming this because it sounded like the village she came from had a low birth rate since women appear to be rare there. This is likely why Irumyuui being barren and the only female child was enough to label her as cursed and why she was banished to the Abyss. It was considered an ill omen that something so precious as a female child would be incapable of providing what the village considered most important. Children.
I have a theory about the Cradle of Desire, or Wish-Granting Egg. I think that it doesn't necessarily require payment but finds the most expedient way to fulfill the "wish" or "desire" and delivers the wish using the mental "computing power" of the person wielding it. Adults are unsuited for it because they have too many conflicting desires and they're so muddled that the egg puts them in that tree-like state we saw as a result of the egg becoming "overwhelmed" by the sheer number of desires and "crashes". My theory is that when the egg uses Irumyuui's thought processes or "computing ability" to fulfill her wish it uses he child-like simplification for how to do it. This includes giving birth to "babies" she's never seen so she gives them the form of the closest thing she can think of which is her pet. This also includes giving birth in a way that seems unnatural to us, through a hole in her stomach, but must be how she believes the birthing process is. She didn't understand how to achieve a state of pregnancy so she transformed into that grotesque form because that's the best and most expedient way to achieve Irumyuui's wish that the Cradle of Desire could come up with without proper "input" from its wielder, Irumyuui.
