If I had to, I would vote for Bakemonogatari, Golden Kamuy, Gurren Lagann and Land of the Lustrous in that order. You can't really go wrong with these so don't worry, just pick one and enjoy :D

Last year, I watched Vash the Stampede from Studio Orange, and it was stunning—their 3D animation technology is truly top-notch. I've already seen The Promised Neverland (Season 1), Attack on Titan, and Ghibli movies—I especially love Princess Mononoke. The other recommendations are fantastic too, thank you!

Studio Orange did such an amazing job with merging 2d and 3d animation as well as blending 3D smear models that they were consulted by animation studios all over, including the team that worked on Into The Spiderverse. Also it's just a very personally relatable story. The shows I'd add: Girls Last Tour Serei no Moribito Shinsekai Yori Promised Neverland (season 1) Shingeki no Kyojin (though you've probably already seen it?) Neon Genesis Evangelion (same) Madoka Magica Youjo Senki Read or Die The movies I'd add: All of Ghibli, just .. everything, but especially Mononoke Hime Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust (watching the first film is optional) Not suggestions for a reaction, but just beloved from my childhood: Battle Angel Alita Bubblegum Crisis + Bubblegum Crash

2024-12-07 14:41:26 +0000 UTCI would recommend Golden Kamuy or Yu Yu Hakusho from that list. I'd personally love to see you react to 3-gatsu no Lion/March Comes In Like a Lion though. I don't think I've seen an anime treat its characters quite as seriously as 3-gatsu's mangaka. It also helps that most of them are so loveable. I recommend watching it without knowing too much about it if you do. Just know a basic description of it is that it's about shogi and personal growth.
