Breaking down Patriots vs Jets against the spread

Do you guys think that New England can cover that huge -10 spread? With all of the injuries they have to fight through, I'm not so sure that they can.

I will say this though, if they DO somehow win this game by 11 points or more, it will be one of the most impressive coaching jobs by Bill Belichick from the last two seasons. This team is battered and beat up right now, and yet they are still one of the most dangerous ball clubs in the league - that says a lot about how damn good they were/are in the first place.

Considering the injuries, yes I would say that it's okay. Allen vs Darnold every week would likely be a coinflip anyway, and Rivers would almost always start over either one of them, so I don't think you really lost anything there. Plus you really needed RB help so I'm good with it.

"Finding the Winning Edge" by Bill Walsh is THE definitive guide to all things football, most HCs have a copy of it in their office. Although thanks to that fact good luck finding it for under 280 dollars, there is a pdf version however for those requiring it...

So I have one more question. I have 3 QBs on my roster: Philip Rivers, Josh Allen, and Sam Darnold. I just traded Darnold away to the guy who had Mahomes and no one else for J.D McKissic (I have Kerryon). Was this a good move?

What’s the best book or source I can purchase to better understand football?

If they can get Collins matched up with, let's say Crowder, in that look, they really need to then have a longer developing play that can carry that matchup down the field. Like the boot-wheel that the Rams ran with Kupp against Minnesota that put him one on one with Barr. Several teams have copied that play since then and it always punishes match zone or cover-1 hole looks.

Agreed. They need a hot start to quiet what will likely be a super hyped crowd. If they can start the same way Dallas just did, they can turn it into a blowout. If they start slow and give the stadium hope, it will be a dog fight to the end.

Considering how you said the Pats can be weak over the middle, i remember seeing someone else break down one of Jamie Collins' interceptions where he switches the low zone in a cover 1 with the slot CB to take man responsibilities on the inside routes. How do you think Gase will scheme for a defense that's not only capable of that, but is perfectly willing to playcall for it? Do you think he'll call more levels kind of concepts to bait the low zone down and try his luck on the mid level passing game now he has his franchise QB back under centre?

Can they do it? Sure. Will they do it? I honestly don't know. They'd need to suck the air out of that stadium by coming in hard and fast both offensively and defensively, which I think even with injuries they can do. However the Jets have a better QB situation paired with Bell that should open up more opportunities to get chunk yardage even if big plays are held in check. Big thanks for answering my question the other week. You were the only analyst that would come near it.
