D.K. Metcalf is shockingly similar to Calvin Johnson

What's this? Two Film Room episodes in FOUR DAYS?!

Hell yes it is! I was able to set aside a bunch of extra hours this weekend to polish off this D.K. Metcalf episode, so rather than waiting until later in the week to release it I figured I would just do it now so that y'all could finally see this thing. It's been in the works for...well, basically since the combine, so hopefully the wait was worth it.

Let me know what you guys think! And while you're at it make sure to swing by the Patron-Only Q&A that I just posted this morning. I'll be starting to answer questions later this morning! (I live in the Pacific time zone, for what it's worth)

I think he drops down to the ravens

At 17? Certainly possible, but I'm not sure he'll be there. I do like that fit though, if they also get Haskins at 6.

Do you think the Giants will take him to replace OBJ?

I know one thing - I'm definitely taking him in every dynasty league I'm in lol

I think Brown had significantly more targets because they both played different roles within the system. AJ was the slot receiver, and generally the only receiver working the middle or underneath areas of the field where Ta'amu was more accurate. DK and Lodge were the ones stretching the field vertically down the boundaries, often acting as basically decoys, where Ta'amu was EXTREMELY inconsistent as a passer. So Brown got fed the ball on play after play after play because he was usually the first read Jordan went to. They never really designed plays specifically for DK like they did for AJ.

Stoked to hear your take on Metcalf. This was enlightening, I definitely appreciate the Belichick-in context and CJ route tree comparison. I can't wait to see what kinda career he has!

Great video as always! I understand your criticisms of the ole miss coaching staff, but it still bugs me how AJ Brown was able to find the high level of production that Metcalf wasn't. Any insights as to that?
