August 2025 Update
Added 2025-08-28 22:59:57 +0000 UTCI went into August thinking, now that I had The Blood of Life done, it would be a calm, relaxing month that would let me knock out backlogged tasks. August turned out to be anything but that. I’ve been fairly busy personally, and I’ve not had the time to really sit down and work like I wanted to. Megaplex is also this upcoming weekend, so I don’t have time to work over the three day weekend.
That’s a little frustrating because I did finish a short story called “The Form” I’ve been meaning to get up on here. It’s been reviewed by my writing group, and I just need to get final proofing done on it. Still, getting that drafted plus writing the two poems I’ve posted month means I have at least squeezed in some writing time. There’s a third poem I wrote this month, but I’m not sure that’s worth sharing. I’ve also started outlining my next novel, Shadows of the Spotted Swordsman, but there’s not much yet to talk about there. My ideas for that book right now are still scattered.
I will, as I said, be at Megaplex this weekend, so I plan to write a public post about that which will go out tonight or tomorrow. We’re planning to leave by noon, but maybe we can get out a bit earlier.
I try and do these check in posts to let you all know that even when I’m not putting up a lot of content, I’m still working. I was dreading writing this post thinking I hadn’t done anything this month, but writing it all down, I realize I’ve still managed to make some progress this month even with everything that’s been going on.
