Furry Weekend Atlanta 2025
Added 2025-05-08 14:54:16 +0000 UTCFurry Weekend Atlanta, (FWA) is actually the first con I’ve ever been to, way back in 2006, when it was still a small furry con out by the airport. The con has changed so much since then, it’s hard to believe it’s the same event. This year, FWA will again have record attendance, and while I don’t know what the attendance will be, it might top 20,000 furs. In 2006, there were only 563 of us.
Growth like this brings changes, and just like FWA has grown and changed, I’ve grown and changed. Back in 2006, I dreamed of writing a book, but I had no idea how to do that. Now, I’m in the process of wrapping up my second novel to release this summer, and I have another poetry chapbook planned for the end of the year. (For those who follow me carefully, I’ve decided to let Knotty Works 2 be a 2026 release.) As part of my writing, I will be in FWA’s artist alley on Saturday only. It’s the only day I was selected in the lottery. Also, you will need to go through a virtual queue to get into the artist alley and dealers den, so if you’re not familiar with this change at FWA, make sure you look into it.
Beyond that, I’m gong to try and relax the rest of the con. I recently got back into playing Magic the Gathering, and I’ll be bringing my Voja commander deck to the con. I’ve also got some friends I’m looking forward to seeing and spending time with.
