CaptainShack and E3 Week Update

Hello!

As you guys probably already know I'm heading off to E3. I was invited by a "Game Company I can't disclose yet" at the last minute. So todays all about packing and testing gear before I hit my early flight tomorrow morning.

Sadly I wont be able to produce the next episode of Stellaris till I return. This does however open up the opertunity for something new. I am now accepting audio clip, Fan Art, whatever creative things you guys can produce that could fit the News Section at the start of the Stellaris Campaign. Get creative! When I return  I will go through and pick out the best ones for the episode! Just message me here on Patreon directly with a link to whatever it is you've produced. Be it an audio clip, art work and make sure it fits inside the events of the last episode!

All of this next week will be E3 related content till I return. I even have W4stedSpace Helping me manage the channel and edit for me. So it should be fun times!

Take Care and thank you for making this possible.

Captain Shack, *salute*, This is Captain Jeffrey Fawcett. New graduate of the Systems Alliance Naval Academy trained in Destroyer command. In light of the Republic's current dilemma concerning it's next focus, I took the liberty to write a report based on simulations I conducted during my time in the academy. *takes out holopad, various graphs and figures appear alongside a projection of the galactic map* By appearances, the Republic looks like it has a secure and powerful position in the galaxy, however, in truth it's position is much more precarious both on the short-term and long-term. In the short term, one clear threat is that of alien empires who see us as more of a threat due to our expansionism. We have no true allies, even those with few empires with positive relations with us will not come if our enemies move against us, unless we have an alliance declared in ink. It should also be noted that if an enemy does make a move now, it's unlikely that we would secure victory, as our current fleet is only 2/5ths of it's current capacity and when war comes we will not be able to produce ships effectively. If we're to maintain our military superiority and defense, we need to fill out the Republic's fleet to capacity regardless of our aggressive or defensive stance. The second threat to our Empire is long term, and much less obvious and easy to overlook. And this threat is one of demographics. In simulations based in militarist, expansionist empires like ours, the primary species (in this case, humanity) becomes marginalized due to the constant influx of Xenos from conquered territories. In fact, if you would look at the population reports from after the Dominion War, you would likely find that humanity only constitutes about 50% or so of the Alliance's population, with Jehetmas forming the other half due to their similar amount of homeworlds. If we continue our focus on conquest for expansion, humanity's position in the Alliance will quickly become that of a minority. This is something that must be avoided in order to protect the security of the human species in the galaxy and the driving ideals of our Alliance borne from them. There are two ways to avoid this dillemma, 1: Xeno population purges, however, such a thing is antithetical to the ideals of our Republic; and 2: Human Colonization and establishment of more Human homeworlds, which is much more ethical and well in line with our ideals. In order to pursue the establishment of more human worlds, we must research more colonial techs in the "Society" research tab in order to open up new worlds to our colonists and keep a steady stream of colony ships to keep the human population growing. It is imperative that we colonize as often as we can, but even then it must remain secondary to defense so long as we have as many enemies as we do. *closes holopad and returns to attention* I hope this report is enlightening and informative, sir.

Captain Monstercat reporting for duty,Captain!
