June update (B)

Hey everyone! This month I'm going to ask everyone for a favor in order to release new 3D game assets in the near future. As most of you are aware I've lost a lot of my data back in December, including software and tools I use to export game assets to different file formats.

I've remade the tools and I'm now looking for feedback. Download the attached package and test the file formats in software of your choice, let me know everything that can be improved or goes wrong - any sort of feedback is more than welcome!

Check the preview image attached to this post to see what the models should look like and compare it in your software. Feel free to leave feedback to this post, on Discord or any other way to reach me. Thanks in advance! :)

Hey Jeremy thanks for the feedback! Good to hear the STL worked without problem. While you're right it's a bit out of scope to do PNG texture maps instead of colors, I have been thinking about doing this as it both improves compatibility and performance when using the models in game engines. Again, I'll think about it but for now I'd take that as a feature request :)

I imported all the STLs into Simplify3D as if I were going to 3D print them and all was fine. I imported the OBJs into BuildBox and they imported without error. I haven't looked at each individual one in BB yet, but so far everything looks good. BuildBox doesn't support the material files though. This may be a little out of scope, but ... Any chance you could export the color map as a PNG? From the BB forums: ".mtl is a shader and Buildbox 3 has it's own shaders which are not compatible. PNGs are used for textures, which is just a map for colors. You can't convert a shader to a texture. Shaders are made up of textures and lighting data. Textures are a component of shaders. What you need to do is save your color map as a PNG. Use the OBJ for model data only."
