"My parents did this to me / raised me like this & I had it worse so stop complaining!" Just because your parents did it doesn't mean it's right. It baffles me how parents can brush off obvious abuse with that statement / sentiment. Some of these stories make me so angry and want to cry, they make me realise and remember a lot of stuff from my childhood that wasn't normal. It breaks my heart knowing others have suffered too.
