ROCORRO OF ROKAN

Rocorro (Roco) - Canid (wolf-like) alien from Rokan in the Sirius Sector.

His native name in full is unpronounceable by humans. His language is tonal, and some of the tones in his name are higher than the range of human hearing. Therefore, the best approximation I can suggest is Rocorro. The R is pronounced like the French, but even more guttural, lower in the throat, almost a growl: rrrrrrro corrrrrrr rrrrrrro.

Rocorro's home planet is a large moon of an orange-red gas giant planet orbiting the star known to Humans as Sirius A. Sirius is an A-type star, about 25X more luminous than the Sun with a white dwarf companion star known as Sirius B. The planet orbits about 4.7 AU from its star - comparable to the distance of Jupiter from Sol - meaning that it orbits Sirius once every 6.8 Earth years. The Canid civilization is highly advanced, having gained superluminal space flight technology thousands of years ago. The Canids themselves are also widely known for their physical prowess; speed, strength, and heightened senses.

Rocorro is also known as Rō 狼 or Ōkami 狼 (both meaning "wolf") as a part of his given name and because he is a highly trained member of the elite Ōkami keibi 狼警備 the "Wolf Guard". His close friends call him Kiba 牙 "Fang" and Dmitri calls him "Jace", saying he cannot possibly pronounce "Rocorro" correctly. Jinrō 人狼 "werewolf" is a somewhat derogatory term that is sometimes used to refer to the Canid aliens of the Sirius System.
