April production update!

Hello everyone, a little update on what's been going on in video production land:

I've got two videos basically ready to go: One is another Metro Tunnel video, which is completely finished, but I'm just waiting on a thumbs up from my metro tunnel friends to proceed with it - so not sure on timeline for that, but hopefully you'll be seeing it some time soon. The second video (which will probably come out first) is the video about bus replacements I mentioned in the last update. It's 98.9785% complete, however I'm just about to head off camping for a few days so won't upload it until after that. I expect I'll be publishing it some time in the week starting 28th of April. This video has some similar themes to the last bus replacement video I did, including targeting some faults with the way PTV presents information, but it also takes a much more general view of the way we do disruptions for major projects, and how keeping trains running seems to be barely a priority at all any more. I'm really happy with the way this video has come together, it's got a bit of a philosophical aspect to it, and I think I managed to inject a fair bit of passion into the voiceover delivery. I also spent a whole day filming buses for this one, not something I've ever done before. It's going to be about 24 minutes long, and you can see how the timeline is looking in the above picture! Anyway, that's coming very soon to a screen near you.

The Belgrave/Lilydale video is slowly ticking away, not much to really update at this point, but I have started to get stuck into the writing, and have filmed a fair bit for it. As always with these ones, it's going to be a long journey of course.

The Adelaide fleet video has been basically on pause while I've been working on the more time critical stuff mentioned above. I'm planning on shifting the priority back to this once the bus video is out the way.

For something completely different, a group of students from Victoria University recently did a short radio interview with me for an assignment. It wasn't broadcast anywhere, but you can have a listen to it here if you're interested: https://tinyurl.com/mrxmbk44

Hope you're all enjoying the holidays/long weekend/s (for those that get them)!

Cheers

Haha yes, was a bit of a sudden ending. :)

The interview was pretty interesting, definitely can tell the students were new to it as they rather abruptly finished it, but hopefully it was fun to be involved :D

Love this. I do some video editing myself but nothing to the extent you have to do for yours — I can see the mammoth workload you've done here! Thank you for service! 😁 We're on Mykonos atm for a family holiday, so I confess I'm glad there won't be a new video this week, haha. I'll definitely be listening to that interview shortly though!
