Beneath the city
Echoes of dripping water and the distant scurrying of rats fill the endless maze of old brick tunnels and dark stone chambers. Dim torchlight flickers across slick, wet walls, casting shifting shadows through rusted grates and across stagnant pools of foul-smelling water. Above, the faintest shafts of daylight pierce through narrow vents, painting godrays in the swirling mists that rise from the depths. Somewhere in the darkness, unseen things move. A tail splashes, a low growl echoes, and the sense of being watched never truly leaves. The
The Sewers are a place of secrets, where refuse from the city above mixes with lost memories, and every corner might hide a clue, a trap, or a lurking danger. Here, beneath civilization, stories fester and plot hooks are born, waiting for brave souls to uncover what should remain hidden.
Game Master’s Overview:
The Beneos Modular Sewer is a fully modular animated battlemap set, designed for maximum flexibility and reuse across campaigns. Any time your world has a city with a sewer or undercity, this system fits seamlessly beneath it.
Purpose & Uses:
Modular Freedom: Each map section and scenery can be rearranged, used alone, or combined with others for unique layouts, adapting to any narrative or urban environment.
Story Hooks & Encounters:
Monster Lair: Use the sewer as the lair for a beast or murderer, where clues, evidence, or the villain themselves are hidden below the city.
Spider Nest: Add a spider-infested area if townsfolk begin disappearing, weaving suspense and horror into your story.
Basement Connections: Seamlessly link the sewer with cellars or dungeons, allowing transitions from above ground to below, or vice versa. Perfect for heists, escapes, or secret infiltration.
Criminal Hideout: Feature a den for smugglers, thieves, or a serial killer, deep within the maze of tunnels.
Cave Entrances: Two different cave entries are included—use them as hidden access points into the city (for sieges, smuggling, or escapes), or as exits for those fleeing the city, leading directly to wilderness or other cave maps.
Hidden Dungeon Access: Place a secret entrance to a larger dungeon complex, expanding your campaign’s possibilities and integrating with further adventure modules.

We are about to release our own cloud. The Beneos Cloud is expected to be released in September and has been in development for over 8 months. The Beneos Cloud will offer many quality of life features and allow Beneos tokens, spells & items to be installed directly into your world (as is the case with Beneos Battlemaps and Moulinette). This will improve many things and eliminate manual downloads via Google Drive. This is a huge milestone for us and everyone who supports Beneos Tokens. More on this soon over on our second Patreon.
