[EARLY VIDEO] V/line fleet explainer!

Here it is, probably my second most requested topic - it's a video about V/line! This is pretty much a fleet explainer, I plan on making some videos on other aspects in the future. Enjoy!

Hi Martin, I thought I'd copied my comment across to the new version but I can't see it. If it hasn't shown up, please know that it's purely because of something I did, like pasting but not saving!

Matt Austin

Cool bananas

Ant Wakefield

Oh yep I can see it now! I'll play around with it tomorrow and see if I can work it out before I make it public.

Taitset

On the long distance runs they offer seat reservations, which are all allocated in the two cars at the east end - which includes the ACN, with the former first class section. So if you want to travel in it you have to reserve a seat - but it's still the same price as any other seat.

Taitset

Thanks, I'll check it out and see if it needs a re-render

Ref 7.30 - 7.50 on the timeline.

Every time there’s constant moving content ie : a train going past, or footage from the train looking outside. It shutters every second as if it’s skipping a frame. Quite noticeable once you see it.

Ant Wakefield

Hey Martin, I've only taken a Vline from geelong once however when you mentioned the first class section was abolished however when I took the train there was an announcement saying "Myki customers please use the last three carriages, pre-paid ticket customers use the front two" It was a very busy service so that could be why.

Max Rasmussen

Does it happen across the whole video or just in certain shots? There are a couple of shots in this one taken a various different cameras which might have been shot in different frame rates originally.

Taitset

Just got a new Apple TV and thought it was an issue with my setup… drove me crazy for half an hour trying to diagnose but eventually realised it was just a few videos of yours done at 24fps. Your 30 fps ones don’t do it nor do others, and it stutters in the native YouTube app too.

Ant Wakefield

Interesting, I'll have to check. Hopefully just a playback issue.

Taitset

I'm glad that man in the railcar said hello to me or it would have been awkward

Marie Taylor

Hey Martin, did you mean to render at 24fps? Seems to cause a stuttering effect every second when watching… not sure if just me.

Ant Wakefield

yay :)

Marie Taylor

Looking forward to redeeming my free coffee on my next vline trip 😂
