- With a bit of leeway in terms of "shedding", I managed to make some progress with the time I have. This includes the replacement of the main facades with a masculine and feminine face (Central and East Wing), detailing that is susceptible to modification, progress on the perimeters, and extensions to shell stacks that gives me a sense of direction.
- Since the build is being raised from the ground without a formal plan, juggling between ideas before consolidation can take hours. This issue can be alleviated by sectioning interiors, which adds direction and connectivity to exteriors. However, I think with this particular build I'm going to focus mainly on the exterior for now, often checking the alignments between the interior that affords seamless transitions.
- Seeing that I'm not really emphasizing a specific style of architecture, maybe I should keep it that way. A mixture of different elements does produce some interesting results, so I might go for a blend between contemporary and traditional.
- A build like this shouldn't really take too much time to complete from start to finish. Considering the amount of space there is for interiors and lurking power outages in SA, its completion estimate is however unclear. I'll try to add as much progress despite the circumstance, and inform you about any major changes before laying down percentages.
Thank you for sticking around. Your patience and support are greatly appreciated. Peace for now! :]
UPDATE V:
- Despite the crisis in SA already mentioned, I managed to make some significant progress on the landscaping and the general detailing around the build.
- I think I'll start to move inside of the build to see how I can correlate the exterior with the interior. When everything is sectioned, the overall detailing and rounding off will start to become more prominent and visible.
- Being within the confines of political drama in SA at the moment (god forbid, luckily not geopolitical), I'll still add progress whenever I have the opportunity to do so. I'll try to add another screenshot of my progress, or maybe try to determine a statistical progress estimate without an image simply to add an element of surprise. Hope you guys are still well. Much love! (^_*)7
UPDATE VI:
- Since the loadshedding doesn't look too bad for the next two days, I'll have enough building time to make some noticeable progress.
As illustrated by the new screenshots, you can see that all my interiors have been sectioned off with a couple of placeholders (I can't display all sections, it's too extensive). This will allow me to determine how each room will be furnished, and what function it will serve for your survival journey.
- Aside from expanding the southern section of the build externally, which is somewhat in the balance at the moment, I'll focus on the interiors for now before adding small details to the surrounding geography and the residence. Structurally I know where I'm going, with the exception of still trying to figure out how I should apply hidden chests, and where. This has partially been determined by two attachments; one below the build, and a seated area within the Mesa that couples with another area.
- Having mentioned that, it becomes clear that my biome selection has been made. I don't find it appealing to perpetually use the plains as my geographical choice, so I used a vanilla generated Mesa that will progressively be customized to compliment the sandstone variants of the central feature. This is the main reason I used Alacrity, simply because its sandstone has a beautiful texture applied to it, though, I feel somewhat bullied by the extra height applied to pane glass, a circumstance that adds too much vertical height to pane glass, making it somewhat difficult to use panes as fences. Notwithstanding, I have to improvise despite certain constraints.
- National crisis aside, I think I'll stick with the usual positivity despite the drama currently experience by the majority of South Africans. It's a bit unfortunate that I could have been busy with my second build of the month if provincial issues weren't such a thorn in the side. Either way, I'll keep you guys updated as I move along. Judging by where I am now with the amount of interiors (more than thirty sections thus far) I'll have to work out, I'll be able to lay down a statistical progress estimate soon.
Hope you guys have a fantastic day! I greatly appreciate your patience and support. Peace, and much love! (^_*) ¥
- More external progress on attachments such as caves and underground channels
- Added more, and in progress of, external detailing on the residence itself
- More room space added to the already sectioned interiors
- Since the "shedding" in SA has been somewhat alleviated for the festive season, I'll try to add as much progress as I can while working on a ton of other obligations that requires intense focus. It it weren't for your support, my head would have probably exploded by now haha.
- Interiors are now being completed from floor one to third. Interiors can be a tricky situation when you want to make each sectioned space appealing and different. Settling for basic interiors can be less challenging and time consuming, but I digress from such a stance. I'll rather work longer on this aspect of the build instead of haste through it with bland results.
- The exterior has also been refined, though, I'll still add more to it when I'm about to wrap things up with the interiors. There's a couple of attached pathways added to the build that sill needs some work.
- To make it easier for myself during the construction process, I chose to work on all the finer detailing while the interiors are being structured without a formal plan. It's just one of those days where you simply just build.
- The entire month has been a roller-coaster, ranging rough depressing shit, to some pleasant and heart warming experiences. Point is, I have to allow the drama of life to play out while I work on my builds and myself. Considering that I lack so much, there are a couple of changes that has to be incorporated come New Years.
- On a serious and pleasant note; I thank you for allowing me to do so much for the people in my area, and for those who don't have something to go by. Being partially broke never felt so liberating! "why?" because I've never really been so selfless in my entire life. Try doing good for a change, the internal experience is something that honestly can't be put into words. Conveying care and love towards others (even without money) are truly something different for me; something I quite frankly prefer over many things that can be considered beautiful.
- As always, I'll keep you guys updated on any major changes, though, without any new screenshots. Considering that the build is growing in substance, it would be counterintuitive to project new images when the construct is heading towards the closing stages. Just give me a day or two to spend with my family and friends while the new year is peaking ahead, I'll continue the build as soon as I have time to settle down.
Religious or not, I hope your Christmas is filled with blessings and love. Don't skip the opportunity to spend time with loved ones. Tomorrow might not be granted to one of them, nor to you. If there ever was a time to drastically change your ways, it is now. Be mindful, and never! give up on your ambitions. Don't conform, be you!
Peace, and much love! (^_*)/
- Now that every single interiors has been filled, I just need to do some refinement in each room and make my way outside to focus on the final touches externally.
- I'm also planning on adding hidden chest and some deeper elements to the build overall. After spending a couple of hours with family and preparing myself for some drastic changes come 2024, I'll drive the build home from that point forward.
May this year be filled with prosperity and abundant wisdom for all of us! (^_*)/
