After playing around with a couple of ideas, contrary to my sketch, I have a mental layout that will be put into perspective from this point forward. As before mentioned, I'm going to stick with 18th - 19th century Dutch architecture with strong medieval influence. Accompanying me on this build will be my all time favorite, and arguably the best medieval Resource Pack to date; Conquest Reforged. If you're a builder and haven't tried it out, you're honestly missing an opportunity to produce a beautiful work of art on Minecraft. Aside from the excessive block variations being offered, promising nonetheless, the RP is truly incredible even from a modern perspective. If you don't have the time and patience to construct detailed builds however, I've got your back!
The above images displays my location, chosen according the geographical potential I see, and second, a basic façade that can honestly take any form when you chip away at it, so structural geometry is basically nonexistent at the beginning of the build lol. As soon as everything feels cohesive, I'll move it to my preferred spot on a Conquest Generated World, grafting it into its new surroundings (Which usually takes a ton of effort). An old Mansion sound like a beautiful time investment filled with endless possibilities within the parameters of the landscape, so I thought I'd go with that as my basis.
I'll keep you updated on any major changes as I progress with the build, which luckily, considering that my life can be a busy affair at times, affords me a couple of uninterrupted days I can use to complete most of the build, before finalizing it with the time I have when I'm not occupied. For now, I'm statistically on 3% haha.
As always, and with a grateful heart, I thank you for sticking around. Means a lot to me having you on my side amidst hundreds of incredible builders you could haver chosen. Super humbled!
UPDATE I:
Significant progress on many aspects of the build with markers and placeholders for my interiors and exterior, which will likely take an incredible amount of effort to orientate the perfect direction without making everything too spacious or cluttered. Bearing a rang of architectural styles, I'll need to carefully weigh between what will be the predominant features while maintaining overall continuity. Having painstakingly established a geographical basis on the survival map, I'm thinking an old Stone Hence type of monument will compliment the surrounding elements, which will indicates the layer of an older people, and a transition that maintains their roots by preserving most of what is left with a similar expression set in stone.
I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to approach the interiors, and what purpose the surrounding buildings will serve, though, determining by appearance, most of what envelopes the build can be assumed to display a purpose that is self-explanatory i.e a barn, water pit, extra housing etcetera. I also broke the linear nature of the build by working on diagonal features, sensible displacement, and a type of subtle tessellation that does not overwhelm the player with unnecessary bumps and crannies; something that can easily reduce a build to a confusing mess, which is not my aim of course lol.
It should also be noted that your input is important to me, so if you have any ideas that you want me to implement, I'll do my best to add it to the build as organically as possible. Also, most of what you see thus far can easily change overnight with the furnishing of new ideas; or simply stay as it is with a much more refined appearance and extra additions. Either way, I'll add a video when the build is done that will give you a much broader scope on what has been produced when the construct is complete. As before mentioned, pictures and slideshows honestly can't really express the finer aspect of hard work, so conveying a YT presentation is a no-brainer. Or, of course, the liberty of roaming the build yourself without any constrictions.
On a different note; thank you for being patient with me. I usually lose most of my Patrons because of custom content, unreasonable pressure that demands me to basically not have a life outside of Minecraft, expressive exit comments that honestly stings, and essentially a lack of interaction presumably because most think I'm not "popular" enough to engage with lol. I'm not going to change my perspective however, maintaining a healthy lifestyle will always be my goal, expecting me to sit in front of a screen for thousands of hours without pause is simply something I'm not willing to do to my health and spiritual wellbeing, so balance will NEVER be exchanged for a monotonous lifestyle.
That being said; thank you for those who support my work without a destructive bias, though with constructive criticism that can help me become a better builder while living a positive life. To those who find use of what I create, for those who see the value in the hard work of others, and for those who themselves do not conform to some backdrop devoid of meaning. Thank you for being you, and for supporting me along the way. You have no idea how much your presence means to me! BAIE DANKIE VIR ALLES WAT JULLE VIR MY DOEN! (^_^)7
I'll work on a vanilla build as soon as this construct is behind the back. For now, I'll focus on the build at hand :]
UPDATE II:
All interiors have now been sectioned off, exteriors refined, edges smoothened, and sensible direction applied to awkward areas. Adding a lot more effort to this specific build is a just-given, there is simply too much detail I want to add for this to be the end result of week's work, so I'll have to walk the extra mile for you guys; which is always the case to be dead honest. I'll refrain from uploading more screenshots, unless you want a step by step interior design course, which can be a painstaking process if you want everything to make sense overall lol. I'll keep you updated, or you can simply follow the stats counter below to evaluate my progress on the build. Hope you have an awesome day! :D
UPDATE III: (Final Update)
All interiors are now complete, Externally, I just need to string together a couple of loose ends, see what can be improved, and basically wrap things up by doing some final touches. Pretty sure the build will be done in a day or two, perhaps earlier or later. Hope you guys are still doing well. I'll keep you updated! :]
