First Painting Contest - Winners!

Time to announce the winners for the Winter 22/23 Painting Contest!

Thanks to everyone that participated! This being the first contest I've ran I had no idea what to expect. I'm also not a professional painter, but I've painted plenty of miniatures (we don't talk about my cabinet of shame full of unpainted test prints!) 

So here are the top 6 winners! 5th place was tied!

1st Place - Nike / Kapviq

• I loved this piece and the creative way to use these miniatures. The story telling was also great - I imagined Caius eldritch smiting the Osterbeast into the ground as they are falling. The OSL and overall painting is great. Fantastic work all around.

2nd Place - Satellite

• Really great work on Agannon! The overall painting, NMM and OSL are so good. I love the ethereal glow from the ghosts - the OSL effects can be seen throughout to point I would notice more light bounce effects the longer I looked at it. It really captures the BBEG lich vibes perfectly.

3rd Place - Gerald

• Great job on Aurekesh! The NMM on the armour are fantastic. It really bought that the gold was old and shiny. Great job painting and I enjoyed the palette chosen for this mummy lord!

4th Place - Monarch

• This was painted well and was a really cool piece conceptually. I enjoy the story telling in the base and the unique take on Agharicus. The painting on the scales and palette really sell the nature/woodsy feel to the piece.

5th Place - River

• Great job on both of these miniatures! I really really enjoyed the palette chosen for Artorias' armour. Great painting overall plus, it looks like he just took care of some troublesome PCs to send a clear message to not mess with him!

5th Place - WoodintheHood

• This is a really cool way to display these miniatures! I can imagine the lair being these tunnels that are normally traversed by a floating creature. There is also something about the palette for the Eye Sovereign that I enjoy and it was painted really well.
