November newsletter - 'moar feather stuff'
Added 2024-12-01 04:56:46 +0000 UTCHello all you fine folks on Patreon! It's newsletter time again.~
The first article is another update on the Integument Review Project, written by Lathreas. In this article, they describe a few molecular pathways, especially focusing on Wnt/beta-catenin, and describe how molecular signaling and development can give rise to key feather structures like barbs and barbules. Feathers are the trickiest of the integumentary systems we've been learning about, but we're getting there. Also, not presented in this article, we've completed the section on feather coloration and pigmentation! (That section alone is 16 pages including 8 figures, wew!)
The second, brief article at the end is just a quick update on the 2nd head anatomy video that yours truly is working on. It's still moving along! Integument has taken a higher priority recently but I'm able to start getting back into it. The break has honestly been useful; fresh eyes let me cut off several tangents from the draft script.
