RDS vs LPVO - Practical Shooting 101

We're launching what will hopefully be new series on InRange, aptly named "Practical Shooting 101". In these videos we will be addressing relatively beginner questions and issues, in the hope that we will assist people who are just starting out make good decisions for their practical loadout.

In this video, we're discussing the apparently hot debate of red dots with magnifiers versus LPVOs.

Comments

Would similarly love to see a video on choosing magnification zoom level (3x vs 4x vs 6x, etc) for RDS+magnifier

DamageReport

Any recommendations for RDS now that the Holosun HS503G is effectively discontinued?

Great information, this is why I started to watch you channel 8 years ago. Most of this I already know but it's good to hear your take. How would a clip on thermo to the LPVO change your perspective?

I like lvpo's. anyways... sure not its weight but an elcan 1 or 4 maybe newer 1 or 6 sounds best both worlds, too. great quality for bigger price tag though. well there's a 22, with a lvpo cause different competitions (ipsc, 25, 50m..) too, but centerfire I do only have one scoped here. if it would be real light short say wwsd 14.5 I would think long and hard about a 3x prism as well. MOST times between distances I find myself at 3x.

Glad to see this "101" video. Even though I've watched the 50 InRange videos 🤪, it's good to see this info summarized in a clear rational way!

Surprisingly enough, this is a kind of content I've never really seen before. I'm not personally in a position to even get a gun, much less put stuff on it, but I found it an interesting video regardless, and I'm sure there are many, many people out there who have a practical use for your advice and walkthroughs. I hope you'll make more!

Love to see more introductory info for shooters!
