Plans for 2023

When I posted the site to r/leagueoflegends again, I did not expect to see even a third of the traffic we eventually handled. For those who were just visitors, thank you for your patience. And for those that donated, your support is incredibly important for the following reasons:
As I only promote rewind.lol every 12 months, I expect to see a steady decline of 20-30% in subscribers over the next 4-11 months. To prepare us for that, the first half of the year will be focused on stabilizing infrastructure changes and increasing efficiency. Our costs are very high due to the spike in traffic as well as planned server upgrades. Specifically, I will be replacing one of my two physical servers with one that is faster and more power efficient. By May or June we should be in a good spot to lower operating costs; funding goals will be adjusted to reflect this. (Stay tuned in February for a cost breakdown post.) During periods of low demand or high energy costs, queue processing on physical servers may be moved to the cloud instead. Lowering costs will also delay the deletion of old matches for non-subscribers.
The second half of the year is typically dedicated to preparing us for the next year's January traffic. This will include more improvements and feature releases.
I want rewind.lol to still be around in 2025 so we can all look back on the matches we're reminiscing about right now. And unlike other creators, I will NOT use your money to buy myself coffee, beer, tea, pizza, RP/skins, etc. Every contribution enables me to keep fighting on and not sell to another company, not place ads, not shut down, and not compromise on our mission.
