Infrastructure Problems & Last Call for 2022
Added 2022-11-10 08:04:47 +0000 UTCIn May of 2022, rewind.lol began a long-running maintenance operation to migrate match data to the cloud. Since then, we have run into a number of complications:
- Performance issues with our cloud storage provider
- Performance issues using local hardware
- The failure of 3 separate data drives
- Slow internet speeds
- Attempting to run the maintenance without user downtime
These root causes have resulted in frequent outages and a poorer quality of service over time. Therefore, the maintenance needs to be redone to ensure the integrity of stored data. I apologize to all of our users. Please be assured I am at least as frustrated as you are.
So, beginning on November 12th and hopefully ending before 2023 begins:
- queue processing will be suspended and positions may not be preserved
- the ability to view the details of individual matches may be suspended
- the Tournament API may be intermittently available or may be offline until maintenance is complete
- Patreon billing will be suspended for another month
Therefore, this is the last call to update your profiles for the year 2022. I will give updated ETAs in the discord server some time after the maintenance begins.
