Patreon Changes

About damn time.

A lot of you may have noticed that a lot of the stuff on my Patreon Rewards were not being delivered. I'm not running polls for my next game, I'm not running votes for high-tier patrons, and moreover, I'm not actually posting a lot of stuff here monthly for updates. This Patreon is something that I've been really neglecting while I focus on game development and publishing on other platforms.

Thus, I've decided to make some big changes.

I am removing all my tiers except one. I will no longer provide copies of DKD and Magebuster to new patrons. This Patren is going to do a faceshift to more properly represent what it is: A place where I post updates, and let people contribute extra to the development of my future games.

There are three big reasons for this.

Firstly, Patreon makes up less than 8% of my income from my games. The vast majority comes from direct game sales on Steam, itch.io, Gamejolt, and other platforms. As such, I find it would probably be a better move for me to stop using a subscription model, and focus on making my games into retail products with permanent ownership for their base price.

Secondly, I don't want to be charging people monthly with the promise of rewards I do not actually grant. I want to be open about what people pay me for, and what they can expect. i don't like the current dishonesty of the Patreon, even if it might be making me money, and I want to come clean.

Lastly, I realize that my Patreon could be banned at any moment because of the content I create for it. It's a risk for both me and my patrons. If I am suddenly banned, all of my Patrons will lose access to my posts and rewards. If people pay to own my games, I'd prefer people to have them on a more stable, reliable platform.

For those Patrons who have supported me on Patreon up to this point, I can provide Steam keys or direct download links to games you previously obtained as rewards. Just send me a message, and I'll give them to you.

Thank you to everyone for your support, and I hope you understand the new direction I am taking.

Elf Enchanter: Arousing Anima is essentially finished at this point. I've already sent out early copies to some testers, influencers, and curators. I hope all of you will support it's full public release on August 1st.

But even before then, I have an announcement to make about the next game I am working on. Look forward to it.
