Actual Game Mechanics!
Added 2021-12-12 08:06:28 +0000 UTCTwo weeks ago I thought I was ready to start adding actual content (ie. the start of a storyline, some porn-y drawings, that sort of stuff). I went to get started and... immediately ran into a bunch of mechanics I needed in place before I could add anything useful or entertaining. Now all of that work is done! In no particular order, here's some of the stuff I've gotten done:
- Got all of the lighting rigged up to work with character portraits and vary by time of day.
- Added the entirety of the character UI, conversation UI.
- Set up an event system so when time changes characters can take action.
- Added a scheduling system so characters can go to specific locations at specific times and have specific actions enabled at that time/location.
- Added an options system so some options in a menu can be hidden, others displayed but locked out (when you lack the requirements), and others enabled.
- Added a chores system, which are the daily tasks you have to do to avoid losing the game, and which generate Stress.
- Added a Save/Load system, so you can save at the start of each day and load your game whenever.
- Added a corruption tag system, so events can give you progress towards a new corruption level.
And probably a lot of other small changes that I'm forgetting right now!
So NOW I can actually start adding new content. The v0.3 release will be the first version to have some actual gameplay and progression to it, although the porn bit will be limited to some nudity and masturbation. Looking forward to sharing it with you all!
