Madonna herself is straight actually but she has been a strong advocate for the LGBTQ+ community since the get go. And you have to keep in mind that those were days of the AIDS epidemic and many if not most Americans vilified especially gay men at the time. It always felt like I was the only person in the world that loves Love Song. I have always loved how experimental and not easily digestible it is. The instrumentation and production reminds me personally more of Prince's Sign o' the Times than Diamonds an Pearls. To me Take a Bow is hands down the most beautiful ballad ever written (Diamonds an Pearls is up there too though). Matador is the word you were looking for. He is a bullfighter, he doesn't run with them. 😉
