There were several hugs in this episode and it reminded me that the innies have never been hugged, they've never slept, they've never taken a shower, they've never done so many things that are normal and comforting and help you reset and center yourself. I also think the relationship with Gretchen is really interesting, she loves him like her husband but he'd be different from him, there would be no history there, no past trauma or other external things that made him behave in certain ways, she's meeting the pure version of her husband and he's sweet and innocent. Like when he asks if they were farmers or lived on a ranch or whatever he said after the cowboy picture and she just smiles at him like he's cute and funny. I remember watching this the first time and thinking that's dangerous... what if she falls in love with innie him more than outie him?-- I can totally see how that could happen.
