I'm really happy you like the movie. Those were indeed natural clouds. The bird was there to check the atmospher. In the past, miners would take a canary into a coalmine for the same reason. If the canary woudl fall dead, it meant the air was toxic, so they would get out. Not a lot of people know the twist until the end of the movie. I'm very impressed that it was one of your guesses. The alien in the corner of her bedroom freaked me out so much. They knew one of them was going to die and still the aliens went to earth. They did not disappear as such but they travelled in time. The start/ending song is a palingdrome as well. The director was also the director of the Dune movies.

2025-06-16 11:27:26 +0000 UTCI love the scene where she's "remembering" being in love with Ian but she isn't in love wiht him yet and I love that concept, I can imagine how intense that would feel looking at this guy that you're just getting to know and knwoing how much you will love each other and your whole lives together and knowing she will break his heart and having to decide it is all worth it. I also love the concept that even though she KNEW her daughter would die it still hit her so hard, like I wonder if at that moment she was thinking "I made the wrong choice"-- and KNOWING she would feel that and still making that choice. That's so intense.

2025-06-16 07:53:35 +0000 UTCShe knew her daughter would someday die from this disease and she didn't tell Ian and had her daughter anyway and that's why he was angry and left her. she kept that secret from him and didn't give him a choice. It's understandable that he'd be angry but she must have thought he might not want to have her if he'd known and she couldnt risk that.
