Early Access: Fashion Brands Steal Your Identity

I'm extremely excited to release this episode, and it's only right that you all get it a bit early! Thank you, everyone, for the outpouring of support to the vision of the channel.

We'll soon be preparing to leave for Paris Fashion Week after a long summer of relaxing and getting caught up on some major projects that will hopefully be out before summer of 2026. Can't wait to share those results with you all :)

Go watch the new Q+A video featuring Daniella! It's super good!

Early Access: Fashion Brands Steal Your Identity

Comments

If you guys where to totally flood the Pateron page with these more like vague almost brainstorming ideas about fashion in relation to people, in all that that statement entails, identity, individual, collective, community, subculture the list goes on infinitely. I would pay 20 a month because that’s all I can afford as a college student. That being said as a college student studying fashion I think these kinds of conversations are really missing in atleast my curriculum, and are worth college course price points, I appreciate you both. Thanks for what u do.

The unfortunate reality is that YT and other digital mediums have embraced the “quantity over quality “ algorithm…. And art has this funny way of mimicking life. I think most people here are like me and are able to slooow down to focus on some of the finer details while trying not to get lost in the blur of life’s hustle. I really like how your vids are not “look what I got , ain’t it pretty” and has substance. I truly appreciate your vids and content! Please don’t ever stop and keep the train moving .

Those are the videos I love most - never stop 🖤

Great...so now i need to watch it twice. Here and on YouTube, because we also need to support and grow the YT Channel 💪

I very much recognize that process of swapping out smaller bits of my identity for stuff I pick up from my environment, and hearing you articulate it in a more concise and impersonal way is helpful to me because until now my view of it has been limited and blurred by the contexts in comes up in (mainly developing fictional characters and unraveling my own bad habits). Thinking of these habits as a neutral creative process that most people probably engage in to some degree is gonna be fun =D

I have also been away from watching you guys, though giving you monthly money on Patreon for years because I believe in your cause...but totally enjoyed this Thank you.😆😁 Identity yes...because what we are pulled to resonates with IS a part of who we are...like who couldn't like Iris Van Herpen, she creates silhouettes that are so biologically active they speak to your very cells as she uses nature as inspiration. And there is Mystery and Art in those who create that fantasy world well with their creations and their performace, fashion show. The IDENTITY theme is like...we have the power to choose and reform ourselves at will by our choices to present to the world our inclination towards specific character traits via our choice in clothing...But it takes a strong sense of self to play with more artistic, futuristic sides of our personas so, the Fantastical Fashion Designers are basically ARTISTS...and you guys are the best at critiquing them...I have been studing Psychology as Financial concerns are greater and I have children to consider...Maybe you guys could formulate some new ideas that just expand what you already do to create more income streams.

tbh on the part of identity I think that the person is what influences the things/people around them. Theres this theory that I think is rlly cool where supposudly every single person in YOUR LIFE is just a different expression towards urself. While yes everything you see/hear/do influences you, you are what chooses what is in your life and who/what you enjoy/relate to. as always amazing video, which has yet again made me think in a new perspective !!! ty guys sm

Once again I am left speechless by one of your videos. I truly believe this quality of content is nowhere else available on the internet. Most YouTubers I watch either upload inconsistently and are lazy, or upload a lot at the cost of quality. As much as I enjoyed watching your weekly uploads, the quality over quantity was definitely the way to go. I have used a lot of words to describe your channel to anyone I know who enjoys fashion, but the way you talk about Hermes is the best way to. Not only do I never doubt that I am going to love whatever you have recently uploaded due to how much care you put into the makings, but I know it is going to be like opening a new iPhone and peeling off the sticker. Like Hermes, in a world full of cool thumbnails with mediocre content that doesn't' fulfill the promise its thumbnail makes, this channel isn't like that. You have created a channel that ensures the viewer will be getting what they came for. Not only do you read and interact with your YouTube comments, but If someone cares enough to join the Patreon, they will be able to contact you directly through the Discord and have a fashion conversation or ask questions that will be answered directly, like a "mom and pops" if that makes sense? 😂 I didn't notice how little some creators cared until I joined Bliss and Daniella's community. You aren't here for the money, and it shows. As far as I'm concerned, you have reached Hermes status on the internet. Any improvements you make at this point would only raise the ceiling of possibility with what a creator can do. Thank you for sharing your passion and calling with the world.

Haha what’s up, Wyatt 💫💫

Bliss & Daniella -- y'all might find interesting the 1995 article by Dan P. McAdams "What Do We Know When We Know a Person?". It understands personality and identity on three different levels: Traits (e.g. "extrovert"), Personal Concerns (e.g. "the type of person who..."), and Life Narratives (i.e. the story that a person would tell of themselves -- their mythos, if you will). I don't know entirely how it might line up with fashion, but it strikes me as proposing a similar structure to how you talked about identity, and y'all might be able to find something in it.

Also, 1) there is a beautifully illustrated children's book called The Blemmiyah about mythical creatures who live in churches and "find the carvings" inside the wood, and 2) fyi there's a glitch/repeat in the video around 15:40. Hope that's helpful!

I love thinking about this. I feel like it's often (at least historically, now is a weird time for aesthetics) been talked about more explicitly in queer spaces, where clothes are very deliberately used to put on and take off certain types of - mainstream legible - people for very practical reasons, like passing as straight or gender-conforming at work. Also love Iris Van Herpen's work as demigods.

Wow wow wow🤩 1 minute 30 seconds in and again you hit it out of the ball park! I haven’t watched for a little while, trying to detox from all the online fear mongering & the sense of overwhelm it all inspires… but I’m compelled to comment on this brilliant monologue! One thing for certain you 2 will never be replaceable by an AI. The originality of human thought and the human hand is demonstrably something we must all treasure. Turning our backs against the enemy of corporate & government mind manipulation marketing, fast fashion, food, drugs, sex, in fact everything aspect of our lives is being made toxically fast… I totally agree we are being designed, molded & manipulated in such uncomfortable ways into a continual state of negative emotion of unfulfillment & want, which in turn is leading to quantities of toxic waste never before seen in human history & we have mindlessly allowed these industries to turn us all into a bunch of self obsessed addled & addicted narcissists … we need to step away. That’s what you guys have thankfully so cleverly highlighted in this video. I hope the audience appreciates and understands! Sending love & appreciation to you both from down under in Australia 🐨🫶🏽♥️

OH MY GOSH I JUST RETURNED TO AN HOUR AND A HALF OF CONTENT? 😩

wy4tt

Wow!! I have always considered style and fashion design to be the same as character design, so it's really cool to see you guys think the same thing and build upon it
