Meet my new D&D publishing company—and what I'm reloading next.

“After Curse of Strahd, what will you reload next?”

Rime of the Frostmaiden? Descent Into Avernus? Waterdeep: Dragon Heist? Tyranny of Dragons?

Now, you finally have my answer: Every single one of them.

Meet Eidolon Publishing—my new TTRPG adventure publishing company.

Eidolon has a single mission: making your job as a Dungeon Master as easy and fun as humanly possible. That means using the lessons I’ve learned writing Curse of Strahd: Reloaded to produce modules that are:

Imagine a world where you can pick up a module five minutes before your session and run it without any prep—or, if you prefer, spend six hours modding it without difficulty or stress. A world where every module comes with battlemaps, NPC artworks, location and room illustrations, an original soundtrack for every scene, a VTT module, and a digital platform that all but preps (and runs!) your sessions for you.

Imagine a world where there are more DMs than players—because DMing is just that easy.

We’re a fledgling company—for now—which is why we’re starting with one of D&D’s most accessible modules: Lost Mine of Phandelver. Our Phandelver: Reloaded Kickstarter—which will provide a full tutorial to new DMs, and a comprehensive overhaul for veterans—will launch this fall, and I’m so excited to share what our team has been cooking. But while we don’t intend to stop there, we can’t get off the ground without you.

I started writing Curse of Strahd: Reloaded because I wanted to give back to a community that had done so much for me. Now, I need your support to help Eidolon succeed.

First—if you want to follow our progress and new releases (as well as receive an exclusive preview synopsis of our upcoming Phandelver prologue adventure), you can sign up for our free weekly Patreon newsletter and join me and the Eidolon team on our public community Discord server

Second—if you want to support our work financially—both to help fund our pre-Kickstarter expenses and to compensate our team’s (currently unpaid) efforts—you can also become a paying member of our Patreon, starting at just $3 a month. Paid members can access exclusive community Discord channels, playtest material (including previews of our in-development digital platform and a secret original project), a weekly development blog, and more.

Third—if you want to get updates on, show your support for, and help shape Lost Mine of Phandelver: Reloaded, you can also sign up to receive exclusive email updates (and our exclusive forthcoming $1 Green Dragon Adventure Pack, which will include a one-shot adventure, an original battlemap and artwork, three new statblocks, and more) at our Phandelver: Reloaded landing page.

Fourth—to help spread the word, you can follow us on Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitter.

The word “eidolon” has two meanings: a “specter or phantom,” or “an idealized person or thing.” I like to imagine it as a helpful spirit, lighting a radiant beacon for others to follow.

That’s Eidolon—or at least, what I want us to be. And with your help, we can make that a reality.

Cheers,
DragnaCarta

It's a fair concern! Our understanding of WotC's Fan Content Policy, however, is that we can accept donations (whether via Kickstarter or Patreon) for any Reloaded module so long as we release the actual product for free (which we intended to do anyway).

I would love to see a phandelver or stormwreck isle reloaded, but I'm wondering if you can safely, legally, do those in a kickstarter. Won't hasbro get seriously pissed off over that?
