Curse of Strahd Reloaded Update: Rough Drafts Ahoy!
Added 2025-02-18 03:10:05 +0000 UTCGood evening, and thank you all for your patience as I've continued work on Arc S: A Sword of Sunlight!
I'm glad to share that the rough draft of the arc is very nearly done, with all scenes drafted except for Strahd's third trial and the players' departure from the Temple (including their final confrontation with Neferon). I intend to finish those final two scenes this week, as well as to draft the entirety of Arc T: The Cavern of Lights (in which the players commune with the spirits of the Huntress and Weaver and receive the Fanes quest), just to get ahead of things a bit. Since today was a federal holiday, I also wrote ahead a bit and fully drafted Arc V: The Monster Hunter (in which the players lift Van Richten's curse), just to knock that one out of the way.
My next steps, beginning next week, will be to edit these arcs one by one, with Arc S going up as soon as its edits are complete. I will keep you apprised of its progress, and post (as usual) more substantive scene previews as I complete them.
(As always, you can get full access to my in-progress drafts by joining the Patreon as a paid member. All working drafts and outlines for future arcs can be found on the Patreon Bronze Masterpost.)
The bad news, of course, is that I am, once again, running behind schedule. The good (?) news is that I've just learned that I'm apparently critically Vitamin D deficient, which is probably why I've been getting pummeled by non-stop illnesses for the past ten weeks. I've officially begun a regimen to address that, so hopefully we'll see returns on that soon enough.
In unrelated news, we've officially completed hiring for my new D&D adventure publishing company! Thank you dearly to all who applied. In total, we had nearly fifty applicants, and an absolute deluge of talent; while we regretted not being able to bring on everyone who applied, I sincerely appreciated all of your interest, enthusiasm, and support, and I hope to find ways to keep all of you involved with the project in the future. I will endeavor to keep you all updated as we move forward in the weeks and months ahead, and should have an official company launch announcement to share in that time.
Otherwise, thank you all for your continued patience and support! I'm excited to see Arc S finally released, and to truly close in on the final chapters of this incredible journey through the Mists.
Until next time.
Cheers,
Dragna

I just started Arc A this Saturday. It's my first time running COS. My players loved it. There is so much depth. I am struggling a bit when I have to use the book for descriptions and when the webpage is enough. We play tabletop with minis, so I made handouts of all the letters from Death House. I just want to say thanks for the great work you are putting into this project.

2025-03-03 11:19:14 +0000 UTCGlad to hear you're getting sorted, vitamin D deficiency is rough. Super excited to hear about your progress with the later arcs too, I'm going to start running Reloaded next week and I'm SO excited because what I've read and prepped already is amazing! Most of my group have already played CoS (it was our first campaign ever under a different DM) plus one Barovia newbie and I can't wait for them to get to experience it!

2025-02-24 00:25:25 +0000 UTCFantastic news! On both health and progress! My group is mid-Ravenloft Heist, so I was worried about catching up. These rough drafts are brilliant, because I can use them even if we do catch up.

2025-02-18 04:00:38 +0000 UTCAs a nightshift worker and inhabitant on a frozen wasteland (Quebec), I do understand the vitamin D deficiency and its effects. Don't underestimate it people! Glad you're on the right track Dragna!
