Even though her starch white uniform and patent heels fit perfectly, as promised, it seemed like an uncomfortable reminder of how small she felt behind that desk, hour after hour, face to face with some of the most impossibly sculpted women she'd ever seen.
It was all so fake, she told herself, not real beauty. Not something to be jealous of at all.
She found herself staring out of the window at nothing in particular until the end of day, thankful at least, that the large granite desk obscured what her wildly short uniform would not.
