SSD Model & Updates

Hey Everyone,

Thank you for your continued support of Branch Education!  We know we've been slow to upload, but that's only because we have 5 episodes that we are currently working on, all of which should be released in the next 3 months.  Be prepared for some incredibly detailed videos!

For May '22, we are giving out the SSD model that we used for our video on how SSDs work!  Take a look using the link below, and if you have any questions, definitely feel free to ask them.

Hey Steven, Thank you so much, both for supporting the channel, and for you work in NAND flash! It's such a fascinating field, and I'm planning many more videos on the other areas of computer architecture! I would love to do a video on hyperscalers! It's sooo fascinating and amazing how complex they are, and how 100% of the people on the internet use them, but 99.99% of those people have no clue what they are or anything involved. I'm don't know any of the in depth of hyperscalers, and would love to learn more about them. I think this topic could make a really cool video, especially modeling a server rack, and then duplicating it a few thousand times.

Really (REALLY) love your flash memory and SSD videos. I’ve worked in the NAND and SSD industry since the late 80s and was involved in much of its development over the decades starting with a 256KB (yes KB) flash memory chip and a first 5MB SSD (yes MB). So much of the industry is fascinated with the compute side of electronics which it deserves the the storage side is breath taking as well. To continue this story, it would be really cool to have you take a step into the world of how the hyperscalers deploys literally millions of SSDs, along with rotating hard drives, store all the data in the cloud including even this message. You can reach out if you want some names of some people who could help here.
