Patreon Video - Episode 22 - Photoshop to After Effects
Added 2020-12-03 12:26:36 +0000 UTCI have a few reasons for animating in Photoshop. One is I just really like the software as a painting and illustration tool, but it also works very well in my After Effects pipeline.
I like a non destructive workflow where I can keep working and updating my animation at the same time as it works in my After Effects file. If I were to import the full Photoshop project with all its layers to After Effects and then do hours of work on it in comp, updating that PSD could cause problems and headaches. My pipeline lets Photoshop take care of all the hand drawn 2D animations and then just keep that as a video file (footage) in AE.
Let me know if you guys work differently. I know everyone have their preferred methods so it would be interesting to see if any of you do something similar or completely different.
