Little tip: My base sketch to block in heads includes a superman shield shape which follows the cheekbones and outlines the front plane of the face. (you can see it underneath my more polished sketches above) The shield shape really helps me visualize where the features will go and how they turn in space. It’s essentially my version of the Loomis method— which is another great place to start if you’re new to drawing heads!
