It's a great show so far and well acted for sure. Random thing, but WAG is wife and girlfriends - of players essentially.

"Is Shane a psycho" after he folded his clothes was killing me no but he is an anxious autistic man about to have his first gay experience give him a break LMAO
This show is insanely good, I'm so glad you're watching it ahhhh When you think about how many popular tv shows having graphic or explicit straight scenes compared to gay ones, this show is truly doing wonders for helping make it more common and they're doing it RIGHT.
Can't wait for episode 2!

I have so much to say, but mainly.. These 2 books, and now the show are so important to me. I haven't felt so deeply about a book to show adaptation since normal people (PLEASE WATCH!!)
A little information without spoilers.
Shane is Canonically Neurodivergent. The writer said she didn't realize it when writing the first book, but after learning more while family members were getting diagnosed she realized She did write Shane as such.
Shane eat sleeps and breathes Hockey. it is everything to him. He loves to learn and absorb hockey content, admires the greats, it is essentially his hyper fixation. Where as Ilya likes hockey but really just likes being great at something, and being able to have something that is able to get him out of his circumstances.
In the books, Ilyas language barrier is a huge part of his struggles. So moments like the press conference and getting asked these long winded questions when he is already trying to piece the English words together in his head and the interview keeps adding onto the question is a stress point that as you picked up, Shane noticed and helped him.
These actors do such good work. Shane isn't a talkative person, and Ilya has the language barrier, so a lot of their interactions are really just.. facial expressions, body language, saying a lot with little verbal interaction. Also without the book getting their POV we can't hear all their constant inner dialogue and I think they both do a phenomenal job of displaying what they are thinking/feeling.
I love that you love Ilya, it is easy and obvious to love Shane (which I absolutely do) but in the books you really fall in love with Ilya as a person, and Conner storries (Ilya) is doing such a great job at making Ilya so loveable.

You can bet that if a TV show is Canadian and it has a sport it is going to be hockey. I love this show to bits already and its only been 4 episodes. I hadn't read the books but it was getting really popular on Twitter so the noise made the show really popular from the get go.
