...And a Sixpence in Her Shoe - 2025.09.19

We have decided to break Willowdale into three separate updates, concluding with the departure from Willowdale. This is due to the sheer size of the game we have been working on. This will shorten the time between assembly and release. I am not prepared to give a date for release just yet(I don’t want to jinx it), but should be able to offer more concrete information within a couple of future supporter posts.

Every scene from the former game has been expanded on and additional, multi-part scenes have been added. This has added to the construction phase. And of course, the coding has been fine-tuned by our Minister of Coding, Riam Mar. Honestly, he has made improvements to the game I would have never considered possible.

And the art… Ladies and gents, we spent a ton of time laboring to reinterpret and elevate the characters and the scenes in the game to an astonishing degree. In this first update alone, we are expecting that there will be well over 1,600 renders, 100,000 words, over a dozen original musical tracks, and around 3,000 lines of pure python code and 20,000+ of Ren’Py coding.

What does all of this mean for you, you may ask. Well, to begin with, you are going to be getting a much larger, richer game than the original, in every sense of the word. More value for your time spent playing Princess on the Run.

All I can say is, thank you for your hard work - respect, and I'm really looking forward to the game.

I can only compare this to the game I have been working on, which has ≈ 45000 lines of code (it had even more, but I condensed much of it). That game is massive and not nearly as beautiful, so I have no doubt that this will be quite an experience 🤩.
