A Promise Best Left Unkept - Aya Edition V0.8.3 – Tipsy (5$) tier [English/ 简体中文]
Added 2025-05-31 17:29:10 +0000 UTCIt took more time than expected, but here we are. The first ending of Aya Edition. Let's get this out of the way, V0.8.3 adds:
- 14340 words (total: 404k words)
- 6 CG sets (total: 105 CGs)
- 3 Lew scenes (total: 59 lewd scenes)
Although this is the first ending, it doesn't really feel that way. Compared to the original, Aya Edition, I think, was stronger during the corruption phase. I feel like the endings will be inferior to the original. Though that's kind of hard for me to evaluate, really. Sorry for always being negative. I know it's not the way you want to go about reading the update.
In any case, you will notice that there are quite a few animations… That's because the action usually ramps up toward the end. I sincerely hope that it doesn't mess with my schedule, but if I need four animations for an update… I might have a hard time with the current animators that I have. Just something to keep in mind.
I don't have much to say about the content of this update. As you can see, the game is already 404k words (with the common route). That's… a lot more than I thought this game was going to be. We still have three endings left after this one, around 100k words to go. Hopefully, we conclude this game in something like 6 months…?
Something in this update did make me… feel a bit sad. I talk a bit about it in the commentaries. Can't really mention it now though.
Also, I know this isn't the time for that, but I might have to delay the release of His Bet, Her Loss. I'm waiting for the voice lines for the voice actress, and I took a bit too much time translating the whole thing, waiting for feedback (that I didn't receive). So… might take a week more… Not sure yet. Hopefully not.
Also, you might notice that the website was revamped. It might not work fully as intended, but I'm trying to improve it. There's a calendar and everything now. If you have tips to make it better, I'm all ears.

虽是首个结局，但感觉不像。相比原版，Aya版的堕落阶段更强。感觉结局可能不如原版，难以评估。抱歉总是负面，我知道这不是你们想看到的更新。
无论如何，你会注意到许多动画……因为结局通常动作戏增加。希望不影响我的计划，但如果一次更新需要四段动画……现有动画师可能应付不来。需注意。

I enjoyed this update. However, I am sad that this is the last time we will ever get to see Laura. I lover her character and seeing her alone and corrupted is so satisfying. Anyways, the next updates will be interesting. I hope we get to see a flashback or get some more information about how Mitsumi's maid was corrupted into serving Mitsumi's father after he tortured her. I think that would be interesting to see.

2025-06-08 14:27:32 +0000 UTCCongratulations on reaching the first ending!! 🎉🎉🎉 It’s been one hell of a journey, but the promised land has finally been reached. At least for this ending 😁. This is one of those updates that’s hard for me to comment on because, honestly, I don’t even know where to start. There’s just so much I want to say. And I feel so strong about it in some way I can't personally fully describe. So fck it, I’ll just start and see where it goes. I’ve got a love-hate relationship with this route. There are parts I absolutely loved, and parts I couldn’t stand. Up until that one update (yeah, that one, we all know which), I was fully on board. Everything hit right. But after that point, which if I remember right was about two or three updates before the end, things started feeling like it just didn’t land the same for me. Anyway, focusing on this update. The main reason I’m so torn about this route is because if you strip away the scenes and the guilty pleasure moments, you’re left with some of the most frustratingly annoying sequences I can imagine. What I mean is, in a nutshell, this route — or more specifically, the second half of it — actually made me despise Aya. And Harry. ESPECIALLY Harry. Good god, I know I’ve said it plenty of times already, but being a Laura fan did not help. Every time Harry rejected her, it pissed me off so fucking much. LMAO. I think it wouldn’t have bothered me as much if Harry had just stayed clueless, because clueless Harry is the best version of Harry. But sadly, that’s not what this route gives us. What really hurts isn’t just the way things played out. It’s knowing this might be the last time we ever get to see my queen, Laura. And the last time we see her, it has to be through the lens of Harry’s annoying, non-clueless ass. Of course, none of this takes away from how great this update was. At the end of the day, my frustration with Harry is just personal bias. The writing itself still hit hard. Now when it comes to Aya, I honestly don’t even know where to begin. I used to be indifferent toward her. She was cute, wholesome, and I actually liked her as a character. But man... this route. The way she acts here? It’s not the sadistic stuff that bothers me. What really gets under my skin is how much of a hypocrite she is. And yeah, I know Harry isn’t any better, but this route legit had me heated. For real. The moment that really pushed me over the edge was when Aya killed the maid chick. That did not help her case at all. In fact, now that I think about it, that was probably the moment I snapped. LMAO. I didn’t fuck with her killing her whatsoever. I didn’t care if she went ballistic and wiped out all those goons, including her father, but when she turned on her, that’s when I was like, “Yeah... this ain’t it for me.” After that moment, I couldn’t enjoy any of her scenes. Not really. The only exception was the final scene, because that one was just goddamn godly. But yeah, after that, I found myself in Harry’s shoes. The only scenes I enjoyed were the ones involving Laura. Which brings me to this: I seriously hope to god that the next endings start all the way back in the infirmary, just like Laura’s route did. Otherwise, we — and by we, I mean me — might be cooked. Moving on, let me throw some praise now. This update right here is a perfect example of how keeping it simple can go a long way. There were so many moments where the scenes could have been ruined if they followed the same approach used in ‘‘that one update’’. But here, it was kept straightforward. The readers were given room to use their imagination instead of overcomplicating everything in a chase for hyper-accurate visual delivery. This is just my take, but I really believe that this kind of simplicity is the way to go. Let the narrative describe the setting in more detail, and the quality of the scene won’t suffer. If anything, it gets better. The scenes in this update were absolutely fantastic. I honestly have nothing but good things to say, so I won’t even go too deep into them. The poses, the angles, the narration, the restraint… it was all beautifully put together. I might even go as far as saying this is the greatest threesome scene we’ve gotten from Hangover-san so far. That might not be saying much, considering we haven’t had that many to begin with. LMAO. But this last scene? I genuinely think it might be the best scene in the entire route. Okay, yeah, I’m probably biased as fuck because Laura is in it, so it automatically gets extra points from me. But it wasn’t great just because Laura was there. It hit hard because, for once, it actually felt like we were seeing the real Aya/Misumi. She finally let all that shit she’d been bottling up pour out. All those ugly ass feelings. And then to top it off, she reveals she was the one who planned the whole thing from this final arc. It was just so ugly, that is the best way I can describe it. Absolute cinema, like the kids say nowadays. Lol. Anyway, I think I’m gonna wrap it up here. Once again, I’m sad as fuck that this might be the last we see of Laura. Sure, we can always go back and replay her route, and yeah, I say that, but let’s be real — I’m just lying to myself trying to cope. It won’t hit the same. Surely Hangover-san will bring back the seasonal extra scenes. Surely. COPIUM I’m giving this update a 9 out of 10. Not a perfect score, just because like I said earlier, Harry and Aya were so fucking annoying this time around. But other than that, this was a fantastic update. As for the entire route, including the ending? I’d rate it a 7. The first half was absolutely amazing. I was locked in. But the second half? With everything I already ranted about? Yeah... that brought it down for me. I’m just hoping the other three endings don’t trigger me the same way Harry and Aya did here. It’s wild because with Laura, when she was going full vengeful mode in her route, I loved every second of it. Watching all the narrative develop and seeing the shit she pulled behind Harry’s back was so damn satisfying. It made me like her even more. Aya, though? She hits totally different. She just triggers something in me, and I can't even explain what it is. I legit can’t stand it. LMAO. Maybe I’m tripping and some hardcore Aya fan is out here cussing me the fuck out right now, but man... I don’t even know what to say. They’re completely different characters, and this route showed that perfectly. (I guess this a positive for Hangover-san, because he's been saying this very same thing since this project even began lol) Anyway, sorry if this felt more like biased tomfoolery than actual feedback, but I felt compelled to dump all this nonsense. I’ve yapped long enough tho. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the endings — and I’m praying they go in a totally different direction than this one. Please, god... give us a clueless Harry route. Until next time, keep on cooking!
