Progress Report (His Bet, Her Loss V0.2 Delayed)

It's not that I don't have the next build for His Bet, Her Loss. In fact, I have it right now. It's just that I waited for too long for feedback about the Japanese translation. I didn't want to make the same mistake as other times and hire a translator who's not talented enough. The worst part is that I'm still not fully sure. In any case, right now, I'm waiting for the voice lines from the voice actress. I paid her a bit more for a quicker turnaround, but it will probably still stretch to later next month (hopefully the first week).
I won't make the same mistake. In fact, I have the Japanese translation for the next part already, so I'll just send it to her as soon as she sends me the line for this version.
Anyway, let's talk about each individual project.
He Maid Her Fall
I'll reiterate what I said in the rating thread, but the next update won't be as crazy as the last one. I was toying with the idea of skipping this month and releasing a bigger update next month, but it probably isn't worth it. I have more incentive to just release updates every month, if possible. So I'll probably do just that. I'm still missing a CG for this update, and I've had… my hands fuller this month, so I haven't had the chance to start working on it just yet. So the release will probably be in the second week of June, if I had to guess. Not sure yet, but if we assume His Bet, Her Loss is in the first week, that would be better.
A Promise Best Left Unkept – Aya Edition
We're done with the first ending, which means we're backtracking a bit to start the second one. This one will be longer than the first one. It's the longest ending out of the four. Well, this ending will branch out into two actually (out of the four), so it's not really accurate. Anyway! Endings take a lot of CGs and lots of animations. The first update might be a tinge smaller than usual (17k – 18k words instead of 20k words), but just know that it's mainly to make sure I'm pacing myself properly. I'm probably the first one here who wants to finish this as soon as possible, so I would rather not do that, but I don't want to end up in a situation where I have to take another break.
So yeah, I'll try to go as fast as I can. If it works out right, I think these two endings could be reached in four months? Five, maybe? We'll see.
As usual, I aim for the fourth week for APBLU – Aya Edition. Want to give me as much time as possible.
The Edge Of – Definitive Edition
I'm really not sure about releasing another version this month. I've worked a lot this month, and for a lazy cat like me… that's not very healthy. We'll see.
If I release anything though… would probably be in the third week of the month.
His Bet, Her Loss
I already mentioned it at the beginning, so won't be explaining further. There probably won't be two releases this month. I'm just a manly cat after all. But if I keep up this pace, maybe it will become the first release of each month from now on. I don't want to promise anything. I want to release updates as often as possible, but I also need to not work all day every day.

I didn’t get the chance to comment when His Bet, Her Fall first dropped since I was too busy to play it at the time. But now that I see this post, I figured I might as well... lol. For something that’s been labeled as “trash NTR” because of the pace it’s going to have, I actually found it surprisingly charming. Or maybe “refreshing” is the better word. It honestly felt like I was reading something straight out of a doujinshi — and speaking of that, the setting of this project reminded me of something specific. It’s obviously not the same, but I couldn’t help but think of the doujinshi [Maguro Coffee (Aburi Salmon Maru)] One Night’s Mistake. LMFAO. Anyone who’s read that one will probably know exactly what I mean. Even the girl feels similar — not just in looks, but in personality too. And for those who haven’t read it, I highly recommend checking it out. There are two parts, but it’s the first one that really lines up with the vibe of this project. I really loved the voice actress’s work here. That said, if it’s not realistic to keep this level of voice acting throughout the whole project, I wouldn’t be upset at all. The partial voice acting used in previous releases has always been more than enough, in my opinion. But yeah, it was a really cool to see here. I don’t have a ton to say about the project right now aside from the fact that I’m excited for it and found it genuinely charming and refreshing. If anything, I kind of want to take the conversation in a slightly different direction and bring up something that’s been on my mind... So before I get into this, this is where people should probably stop reading (if anyone’s even bothering with reading this shit comment lol), because I’m about to go on a semi-irrelevant tangent that's not really directly tied to His Bet, Her Fall, but rather, tied to all the projects released till now?. I’ve been wondering (rhetorically ) if we’ll ever get to see an ugly bastard in any of the projects at some point. Yeah, I know. That’s a hot take. The phrase alone is polarizing as hell when it comes to NTR. LMAO. But I think people have a huge misconception about the term. Not all ugly bastards are created equal. There’s levels to this shit. You've got your classic ugly bastards, and then you’ve got what I’d call Chad ugly bastards. Let me explain. A proper ugly bastard — like, textbook example — would be the caretaker from Soredemo Tsuma wo Aishiteru 2. There’s no way people here don’t know who I’m talking about. He’s probably the most infamous ugly bastard in NTR history. Straight up hideous. No sauce, no flavor. Just full-on uggo. But now, let’s talk about the Chad ugly bastard — the sauced-up, gigachad version. The best example? The boss from Himawari wa Yoru ni Saku. Again, this is one of the most watched animated NTRs out there, so if you don’t know who I mean... I’m low-key surprised. 💀 This dude is technically an “ugly bastard,” sure. But is he really ugly? I don’t think so. He’s just a middle-aged guy who happens to be fat. But the man’s rich, oozes confidence, knows how to please a woman, and walks around like he owns the world. That’s a Chad ugly bastard. They’re not built the same. I feel like people hate on the whole ugly bastard tag without realizing that some of them are actually almost much more enticing than attractive antagonists (since it feels much more degrading) — or at least that’s how I see it. Anyway, I bring this up because so far, all the antagonists we’ve seen in these stories have been attractive guys. And that’s totally fine — nothing wrong with that (plus I know most people don’t fck with the idea of having an ugly bastard as the bull). But at some point? I’d love to see a Chad ugly bastard show up. Just once. For the culture. Lol. Sorry for the long-ass tangent. I’ll shut up now. I really enjoyed the update overall and I’m looking forward to whatever’s coming next. Keep on cooking!
