Would you read more series like Dragon Estate?

I'm enjoying my return to Dragon Estate.

So much so that I want to write more novels like it.

Would something like Dragon Estate in a different location, longer, slice-of-life, and my fantasy style be too similar? Would you get bored?

Or would you embrace something like that? I'm strongly considering writing two or three series that are pretty similar in terms of the core plot. The locations, period, harem members (races, personality, etc), and subplots are different, though.

I think the answer to this kind of question is always the same: Write what you WANT to write. Your enjoyment in writing DE — and your affection for its characters — are evident in the storytelling. They make it a joy to read. So anything like DE that fires your imagination … go for it. But whatever else catches your interest and piques your enjoyment … go for that, too. I know you are constrained to an extent to writing what you think will sell, and that’s fine, but trust me, readers can discern when your heart isn’t in it, no matter how technically proficient you may be. So yes, write what you enjoy. Take pleasure in your craft. Write what titillates you, what excites you, what gets your heart pounding and your juices flowing and … wait, what was I talking about again? That sentence started going places … um, hm. Right. Anyway, yes, more like DE would be great, but so would anything else you enjoy just as much.

I really like the Dragon Estate series. It offers something of a blend between slice of slife and adventure fantasy. With the horror side of the plot mixed in and nasties being cosmic in scale, it makes everything stand out from the pack more, so to speak. I also enjoyed the dragon girls, each one has a defined personality right out of the gate and you used those limited page resources quite well there. So, yes, I would love to see more books in that vein from you because you do something different that I seldom see in either the harem or slice of life genres: We get pleasant dates and characterization, but there's an underlying threat that drives the action without things stagnating.
