Pinball Part 3: Tilts, multiplayer games, and replays

Hi! So, here's what I've been up to lately:

https://youtu.be/XeDCCNFAULk

While I really enjoy making these pinball machine videos, they do take a lot out of me. I realize that I went a little too deep for many in part 2, so this stayed more surface-level. But it still took quite a lot more B-roll wrangling than I thought it would!

So - I'm about to head home for the day. Captions will take until tomorrow for me to finish, but I'll paste in the script now. There will be many a flub but it at least forces YouTube to start processing the timings.

Stay tuned for a general Patreon update tomorrow or Monday - I'm behind where I want to be, but I have some new stuff to share. Thanks as ever for your support!

Hi Alec, I wonder if there might really be a Technology Connection here. A lot of what you have shown in this series of videos does remind me a lot of telephone exchanges (relays, selectors and so on). I wonder if whoever worked all of these out, had a telephone background. What came first, automatic phone exchanges or pinball machines? Even the laced wiring is typical of phone exchanges and their cabinets! Even more for you to ponder over and have sleepless nights...

Only 11 comments [INTERROBANG] My guess is that, like me, most folks are a little overwhelmed by it all. It's not its complexity exactly, but there's such a huge number of components, each one of them doing something simple and easily graspable, but when you add them all up, it becomes hard to keep track of it all. Kudos Alec for being able to figure it all out and make an enjoyable video of it to boot.

Love the pinball series! Electromechanical logic is just fascinating to me. You can build up a lot of complexity out of very simple circuits.

I loved part 2!
