The Rise of Bangtan Ch. 15

So much hate but power of love and sincerity overcame all the negativity. Lets hope for the better world. Got little bit emotional and ranted a bit. Sorry about that.

The Rise of Bangtan Ch. 15

49:14 "Asian hate is more than ever, probably..." I REALLY hope not. The Chinese massacre of 1871 in Los Angeles, the Page Exclusion Act of 1875 (prohibiting the entry of Chinese women) and the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 (banning the immigration of Chinese laborers) ... US history is full of Asian hate, I am sorry to say. I worked with a brilliant Japanese-American woman who told me her earliest memory (age 4) was looking at the blue sky through barbed wire. She and her parents were "interned" during WWII. She graduated in the mid-1960s from UC Berkeley with a degree in economics -- and the best job she could get was as a data entry operator (a job that a high school graduate could do). I truly hope that Asian hate, however despicable it currently is, is not worse than in the past. And maybe, in the future, we won't be having this conversation at all, because everyone will be viewed as simply a human being.

43:26 "It was not getting better" I am so so so so sorry, John, that the US was/is unwelcoming. I wish there was some magic wand that could fix that. I hope that time will lead us to a better place. Like J-Hope says in "Equal Sign", "Same, the breaths we breath. Same the dreams we dream.... Not so different, you and I...."
