News & A look at the next update!

Hello!

So, I've been hard at work on the next update. It's coming along nicely. There are 10 images I've uploaded that I hope you'll like - the last two of which are a teaser for a minigame/feature in the next update. It's quite exciting, and I think you'll really enjoy it.

Before I get into the news, here's some more information about the update, which is still coming out in March and is 100% on schedule:

The update is days 9-13, aka 5 days long.
Image count is not tallied yet, but it's over 1k.
Well over twice the amount of sexual content than the first release. It's almost too much!
To not spoil anything, there are. . . "a few" new characters in this update, not even counting Lexi.
The cool minigame I mentioned above.
Music!
Fun laptop stuff, of course! A few smaller mini-games in this release that are particularly good!
To not spoil anything again - route decisions for more than one girl.
There's one other surprise that I won't talk about, but it's pretty amazing!

Needless to say, it's gonna be an awesome update. I'm quite excited to release it!

Now, the rest of this post is news related and will be a bit longer.

So...

First off, I've decided against a website. I had one with Wix setup, literally 90% of the work done... when I just didn't like the result. There were some cool features to it, but overall it was... unwieldy and cumbersome. It just didn't feel right. So for now, the website plans are on hold. If this game gets bigger, then I'll re-examine this decision, but for now, I'm sticking with it.

Two, and this will be a post/poll unto itself when we get closer to the first update, but I'm debating on faster releases/less game days per release. With my current estimation, I could do 2 game days in about 40 days real time, roughly! The reasons for this are mostly for keeping my game at the top of website "new releases" and thus within the attention span of most players. In other words, this would be a move for popularity and overall outreach.

What do you guys think about that idea? Would a quicker and less game days per release interest you?

Lastly, I've posted the official Android Version of the game on here and on my itch-io. It's got some custom laptop UI that works well, I think! The updated PC versions will be here by tomorrow - these have fixes/improvements/a sex scene gallery and more.

And I'm looking into making a web/browser version but Ren'py movies don't work with web versions. How dumb is that?!

Anyway, my next update will in early February. I really hope to see you then, because there are a couple of ambitious things I'm working on in between renders that I want to share more about... it's just now is not the right time!

Whatever suits you Wildman. As long as what you're producing continues to be top notch, I'm happy. If pushed to choose I'm with M. I'm not a great fan of frequent small releases. I like to have something that progresses the story and that I can get my teeth into and really enjoy.

You do what makes sense for the business. Personally, I prefer less frequent updates, with more content. Downloading a few gig, waiting forthe decompress, patching, and then playing 30 minutes of content is... Anticlimactic. Yes, I'm exaggerating there, but you get the point. :) That said, you're doing great. Big update or small, can't wait.

First, I would like to say that these comments are rare for me to write. But aside from the awesome game concept, stunning visuals, and the fact that all the people actually feel like a different person (something that is very hard to accomplish), the script has had me laughing to tears. Very well done! To answer the question from the post, my vote would be more frequent releases. Its easy for a game to fall off the radar, including in the minds of potential players, so staying at the top of the list is a good move in my mind. Sure, there would be less playtime per update, but at least its something. No matter what though, its your game, and your choice. There will always be those who hate, and those who love. Just do what you think is best and I guarantee this will be something amazing in the end.

I like the length of time in the game the way it is. So please keep the same I do not mind waiting a while for my updates. Thank you !!

I think update length/pace is whatever the creator feels comfortable with, but I personally do think 2 in-game days every 6 weeks is a good amount of content at a good pace. The preview pictures look good, particularly the 'sister drama' tease. Looking forward to the update! Thanks for the glimpse.

This is the kind of news that personally gets me enthused about a project. It's always interesting to know that you have plans and ideas, but it's equally important to me to be able to understand your reasoning behind them, be it technical, skill-based or just plain gut-feeling emotional. It's also profoundly motivating and encouraging to see you balancing your judgments, decisions and priorities against our hope and expectation that "Stranded In Space" remains, in conjunction with all of these expansive thoughts and aspirations, the overall focus of your efforts, energy and drive to deliver your best to us. This lends us (well, those who may still need any at least) added enthusiasm, hope for and anticipation of great things to come. It also makes it easier to be patient throughout adversity and usually results, as a natural outcome, in far higher quality in and satisfaction with the material you ultimately deliver to us with each update. In this connection, by the way, I'm okay with whatever content size/delivery frequency is decided upon as long as the level of quality in all aspects of the game is maintained at the current or preferably even higher level. I always imagined it would be harrowing to be left stranded in the void of space, but following this saga has shown me that under such wondrous circumstances, I would have no concerns whatsoever and, in fact, actually go so far as to welcome it! Such is the power of imagination, this genre and, in this particular instance, the talent and commitment of our Dev. WildMan Games. So, please, WG, Keep cool, calm and collected and carry on delivering at the pace which suits best. (How does that sound, boss? ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜)
