I think Clara needs to kick her husband in the ass, deny him sex, make weekend trips back to San Francisco to fuck Trent, and have Burt fuck her in her bedroom while Adam goes on job interviews. Adam is a real weak, sniveling character. Like others I found it a little hard to believe that she gave in to Burt so easily, but she seemed to do it because of the dare or challenge from Adam. I sense that she will really resent how weak Adam is and may turn out to be very dominant toward him as the story unfolds. A clue is how aggressive she was with Adam when he pretended to be Trent. Before this sex scene, Clara was genuinely upset at what Trent did to Adam at work and was concerned as to whether Adam really wanted to give up his job to allow Clara to pursue her dream. I don't think Don wants to get into politics, but if he did, once Burt gets Clara hooked on his big cock, he could start making her say things she doesn't believe. Perhaps we're too tied up in the Silververse to be able to look at NE as a completely separate and unrelated story. In TA we came to know Dan and Sarah quite well for several chapters before anything really began to develop with Lester, especially the intercourse. And even then, the way that happened was somewhat by accident due to Jesse's meddling. So we came to see even more of Dan and Sarah's close relationship as they navigated Jesse's fraud while dealing with how Lester had Sarah. In NE, we have very little background and character development - and that's ok. Plenty of good fiction gets into the action quickly and the character development is interspersed throughout the chapters. Because we all like Don Silver for how he has been writing TA, DL, and TC we're assuming he'll do the same with NE - when he doesn't have to. But readers have to adjust as well. Now lets say he developed NE as he did TA? Then some would complain he's too stuck on the same format and formula.

This story has so many more possibilities given Clara's very strongly held beliefs as compared to Sarah. In this divided society we now live in, sometimes those with the strongest belief system are the easiest to compromise because the 'other side' is so much worse, so bad, so wrong that's its really taboo. And taboo is what gets the engine running. Plus she's working in a University environment which is rife with politics, funding issues, etc. Lots of potential politicking with blackmail opportunities to keep funding going, programs going, etc from both administration, donors, government contracts and contractors. Not to mention the farmers. I can see a version of "salesman meets farmer's daughter" type of story where Clara meets farmer's son, or, perhaps lacking enough farmers for her research and needs to turn on the charm? The trailer park, well, trailer park trash is always a hot part of any story when it comes to upper-class highly-educated beauties. Where does Adam fit into this? He's much more of a cuck than Dan in TA, and actually willing to plan compromising situations for his wife, whether she knows it or not. So whether he schemes with the trailer park trash, a funding source for her start-up, a sponsor, an administrator, there's plenty of ways this story can go on and on. And, as a side-thought, what if Dan and Sarah were to move away from Middleton to the outskirts of Grand Rapids?

The first two chapters seemed like a nice slow burn, then this chapter felt almost forced and clunky in how Clara sort of just falls into giving her neighbor a BJ. Adam is way too eager to push her from fantasy talk into sex with someone they barely know, and Burt was way to aggressive for the first seduction. All that being said there is potential for her to slow things down with the way she reacted and progress differently...but right now none of these characters are very likable...Adam is a dumbass along the lines of Harry in Detestable Liasons, Clara is already a slut with no self-control or morals to overcome...her liberal agenda doesn't mean much to her and neither does her husband apparently since she says she's doing it for him, but afterwards doesn't even talk to him about it and leaves him to jerk off while she showers (something maybe to expect in a much later chapter, but not after her first experience with another man)...no real corruption of her morals, because she appears to be all talk. Burt is a redneck POS peeping Tom who apparently doesn't even have to overcome any real challenges or do any planning to get what he wants because Adam is going to tell his wife to have sex with him right out of the gate and apparently she's just going to do it. I like the premise of this story, but I don't like the characters or their progression so far...so I find myself feeling indifferent to this story at present.

Great beginning to what should be many more great chapters. She was half drunk and her husband had challenged her, Burt knew what buttons to push, because he had overheard them. He had watched them the other night when she took her first swim for his benefit. So for her to be so easily turned, is not that far of a stretch and people that view themselves as Strong and dominant in their world sometimes are attracted to the humiliation of someone that is beneath them, yet dominates them. I can’t wait to read how he takes her in front of her husband in the marital bed without her permission. There are so many journeys he can take her on because I think he makes his living outside of the law and has friends in those areas that he will share her with for a price. I also think he will help her with her business, my bet is by introducing her to both legitimate and illegitimate farmers, and she might even have to trade her GOODS to get the business.

Whichever way you dress it up either its quality or it isn’t. I don’t get your point about competition. Sure, it’s a different story with a different feel, but either its good or it isn’t, either the plots believable or it isn’t, either you engage with the characters or you don’t. Mark has a good point about Don’s formula., but its how that formula is used and adapted that matters and the original idea/situation in which the protagonists are placed.

So Don clearly has a formula or pattern that he is following. Good-looking, but weak, husband, strong, independant, sexy wife, and physically unappealing antagonist with a big dick. The couple, especially the wife, considers themselves above the antagonist. But the wife ends up liking the big dick so much that she forgets about everything else. Good, intriguing formula. The problem for Don is that he has done such a good job with TA his other stories seem like pale imitators. I have a few ideas on how to change things up, but I'll wait to see what everybody has to say.

I agree with that. I don't view it as 'competition' with TA, just a different story with a different feel. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. At least on the surface, it's more the kind of hotwife story I'd *normally* go for, but Roxy has said a couple of times that this story will be darker than TA, so I think we have to try not to come to conclusions too soon. We've only really had her neighbour to go on so far. Think about the money men she's going to have to please, the farmers she's going to have to persuade, and all those horny guys in the trailer park who will want go sample her delights. So yes, a different feel from TA, but still a story that I want to discover more of. If it's true that Don will have another long story that he's cooking, maybe that one will be more like TA (but different)? I wouldn't mind seeing Don take a break after this phase of TA ends, but I'd like him to return to it in some form once his other stories are up and running. In my mind, TA builds to a crescendo, the couple have split over Sarah's lies, etc, but Marcus catches up with Lester and he goes to jail. Sarah comes to her senses, and realises just what damage she's caused. She goes back to Dan, which won't be a pain-free process for either of them. Maybe this phase of TA ends there, with 'To be continued...'? Don focuses on NE and other stories for a while, but then picks up the story on TA? I could see that playing out in my mind. Maybe Sarah has moved to a new job for a fresh start. She's now admin for the police dept. A World full of 'hardened' males and the intimidating criminals they deal with. What could possibly go wrong for Dan?😂

Totally agree on your last point , MV. There is nothing as good as TA and like you I have read a few. Therein lies the problem imo, TA is so good other stories seem to pale in comparison. NE may improve as you say, but if I were a betting man I would wager it wont measure up to TA. I just don’t think the plot setup or the characters are interesting enough.

Agree to an extent. The thing with TA is that you felt involved from the start, lots going on in every chapter, getting to know the characters, etc, etc. NE is more like a Bob Ross painting, imo. Largely blank canvas, gradually build up more and more detail and action as the painting goes on. I'm hoping that's how it's going to go, with Clara kept *very* busy pleasing the locals, the farmers in the area, and who knows who else. I wonder if Clara gives in a little too easily because that's a sign of what's to come? Setting the stage for how submissive she might be? Adam is frankly a waste of space. I'm not sure what fates are going to befall him down the line. I like the idea of Don developing other stories away from TA, I think he may develop another long story as well as this one, but if I was Don, I'd think very carefully about finishing TA altogether. There's nothing as good as it on Lit, and there's nothing as good as it in the hotwife stories you pay for on Kindle (and trust me, I've bought a LOT of them through the years).
