It’s time for this week’s newspost. We’ll be going over our new survey, discussing Alpha making it to Steam, what we’ve been working on and what’s coming next.
This second survey is focused on gathering opinions from players regarding the general Alpha experience, as well as getting a general vibe check on UI, Game Progression and more.

As a heads up: We’ve switched over to Tally.so for surveys moving forward, which will hopefully allow us to be more flexible with the survey questions and make it easier for everyone to answer. Survey answers remain anonymous!
You are now able to play the Melvor Idle 2 Alpha via Steam! This means a streamlined update process, and smaller downloads for updates.
The Steam Key you are claiming here is different to the standard Melvor Idle 2 key.

When you claim the Steam Key, you will have Melvor Idle 2 Playtest sitting in your Steam Library. This is the Alpha client.
The Alpha client on Steam still requires an active Patreon Elite Supporter subscription to access.
You do not need to do any transfering of save files! Your local saves will already be available when launching the Steam Client.
If you are having troubles claiming the key through Itch - please message us on Patreon! This will allow us to help you as efficiently as possible.
ICYMI: We released an update on Monday where we added Farming QoL, squashed some bugs, added some bugs, as well as some other minor tweaks.

As usual, we are monitoring ALL feedback and bugs! There’s quite a bit happening behind the scenes that we have not announced yet, but hopefully soon we can share more details.
Here is what the team has been working on recently.
Malcs:
Worked on new Farming QoL and bug fixes for the v0.5.2 update.
Writing for Quests Part 1 is in progress (Malcs isn't writing them dw).
Sorted MI2 Alpha Steam release.
Began development for future features.
Coolrox:
Continued work on implementing a localisation system for the game and fighting Godot nodes and bugs.
Also updated the MI1 Offline Client for Android as Google had new requirements we needed to implement before releasing the Beta.
Prat:
Has finished finalizing Agility.
Is now finalizing COW SKILL.
Tapi:
Back from leave!
Working on bringing more seeds and fruits to life.
What if I find any bugs while playing?
If you find a bug, please submit it either on Discord in the #mi2-bug-reports channel, or using this Google form. Please use the Google form if there is any crashing, that way you can also submit a game log to help with the bug squashing process.
What should I do if I’m having trouble accessing the Alpha or Patreon Chat in Discord?
If you (or a friend, an enemy) are having issues accessing anything, please shoot us a DM on Patreon. It’s easiest for us to assist from there. Thank you!
Will Google Drive downloads still be available for the Alpha?
Yep! We will release Google Drive versions of every update alongside our Steam updates for those who prefer a standalone Client.
Will my Steam Playtime on the Alpha carry over to the main game?
Unfortunately not. Melvor Idle 2 Playtest is a handled like a separate game on Steam (Valve's decision), so it will not carry your playtime to the main game.
We track your playtime in game though on a per-character basis. You will be able to view this in a future update.
