Another Denis Villenueve to do on the channel in addition to the Dune movies and Arrival. Each one of his films have been so different yet they have always had such thought provoking themes and beautiful cinematography.
This was a great suggestion so we look forward to seeing what you will all choose for us in our next suggestion box!

Wow loved your reaction to this and your thought process. I have seen a bunch of reactors react to this and usually it's pretty surface level where they enjoy the cinematography and action - but loved how you tried breaking it down and empathizing with the different characters. Love it

The one place I think you maybe went a bit astray is that the plan isn't to install the Colombian cartel so that the US can control them as the puppet masters--because the US isn't gonna control them. But that at least one cartel can assume control and impose some order for its own ends. Because as it stands, the most damaging thing is the total chaos of fragmented cartel wars. Think of the scene on the roof with the "chop the head of a chicken"--total chaos is the enemy. At the bottom it really is nihilistic--not necessarily about humanity, but about the Dope War. If you found this interesting, one of my favorite series of novels is dead on to this topic--the Border Trilogy by Don Winslow. First one is Power of the Dog. Deeply researched, fictionalized story of the cartels. It's incredible.
