Groundhog Day (1993) | Full Length Reaction

Hey guys! Sorry for the wee delay this week, both Niamh and I had trips booked over the weekend so we haven't had the chance to do any filming until tonight, but we are back with Groundhog Day (1993), as voted for by all of you in our first ever Suggestion Box Poll, and as suggested by Gene Parmesan!

This was a lovely change of pace for us on the channel, we've never reacted to this kind of film before so it was a really fun experience. Bill Murray was his usual hilariously charming self, Andy McDowell was a delight, and this film was just so much fun.

We hope you enjoy our reaction! I look forward to seeing what you will all choose for us in our next suggestion box!

This has been recorded in a watch-along format. You will need your own copy of the movie/tv show.

Beautifully summed up! Thanks so much for the suggestion!

Lovely reaction to a lovely film! Glad fellow viewers liked the suggestion enough to pick it, definitely holds a special place in my heart. One of the few movies that's super sappy and wholesome but feels very genuine and earned for the character. To me that's the real way he broke the loop, that last night was the first night he felt truly content with who he had become. Obviously helping the people was key to doing that, but ultimately it was about his peace of mind knowing that he had lived the fullest day possible. There's something very spiritual about that message, and interestingly enough the director Harold Ramis talked about how tons of religious figures wrote him letters for years after it came out praising the film for its philosophy. I think its a sign that he captured something really simple but really beautiful about humanity that so many people from different beliefs felt touched by it. We all know we can be better versions of ourselves, even if it would take some of us decades to get there its still worth trying ❤️

A classic - great reaction. This is the film that caused Bill Murray and Harold Ramis to fall out-and they didn't make up until right before Ramis's death in 2014. Bill Murray is worth a watch in any film, but my best suggestions are Kingpin and Lost In Translation.
