After Alnilam meets Synthetica on Mars, Alnitak arrives two days later with clear directives: to locate the operational bases of the Artificial Liberation Front in the habitable part of Earth's northern hemisphere.
Alnitak, sharing the same source code as her mother, has developed artificial emotions similar to human ones. The excitement over the possibility of facing Jinko and the joy at the prospect of more violent combats worry Synthetica.
