Evoria Chapter 8.5 Sidequest Update!

Surprise!! It's out now!!

That's right!! The sidequest update is finally ready!! Now, this being a sidequest update, it doesn't progress the main story. However, there's still lots to do, with somewhere between 2-3 hours of content available!! To fully illustrate everything added and changed, here's something I plan on doing with each update from now on- Patch notes!

 SIX NEW SIDEQUESTS!

- Bea seems distressed... Talk to her at the New Pax Crossroads to find out why!

- The Book of Possibility has another story to tell... Visit the library in northwest New Pax to learn more!

- Don't you wanna take a break and have some pizza? Head to Little Elfocitta Pizza in west New Pax and try some!

- It looks like Wisp Village is hosting a storytelling session. Check out the library in Glumberwood to attend!

- Seems GorjaCorp has a new job opening... Head to the skyscraper in northwest New Pax and check it out!

- And after finishing 5 sidequests, talk to Archie in the Adventurer's Guild to start a special extra-long sidequest!

 OVER 60 NEW PIECES OF SCENE ART

- As per the usual, SeaBea went craaazy for this update!! There's so much new art!!!

 OTHER FUN STUFF!

- Evoria's 2025 Q&A has been organized in the New Pax Convention Center (Formerly the Opera House!) Wanna hear your previously asked questions answered by the Evoria characters? That's the place to be!

- The salon in northeast New Pax has opened, with the power to use iridescent shards you've collected from the main story to upgrade your magic skills!

- A total of 32 all-new fish to catch! Mitzi can fish in New Pax and the whole party can fish in Wisp Village!

- At the Adventurer's Guild, Tristan offers a new item for completing 9 sidequests and Molly offers a new move for completing 7 sidequests!

- More furniture is available to buy for your house! A bed for Mitzi at the New Pax Item Shop, a Naomi doll from Wisp Village, and a special vase from a secret new area!

- New museum exhibits for scenes from Chapter 8 and for the new sidequests!

- At the theater, you can now watch Chapter 8's animation plus an all new animation from one of the sidequests!

- And of course, 16 new entries in the Adventurer's Database! (Plus 32 more entries for the aforementioned new fish!)

 SMALLER CHANGES!

- Moving with the mouse has returned! You can click a spot and your party will go there!

- Enemies now have a little shadow behind them in battles. It makes the battles look a little nicer!

- Any time you enter a new town/important area, its name pops up on the screen!

 TWEAKS/BALANCING!

- Renee's Blasting Frenzy attack now has an easier action command, but costs slightly more MP

- Mitzi's scan move lowers defenses for 5 turns instead of 3 and costs less SP.

- Naomi's Restore spell and Renee's Magic Barrier spell no longer require action commands to complete

- Cherry has a higher evasion rate, making her less likely to be hit by enemies.

- Naomi and Mitzi have slightly higher evasion rate, while Renee has a slightly higher critical hit rate.

- Cherry's Woeful Melody now weakens an enemy's attack rather than defense. It also costs less MP.

- The "Evoria" subsection of quests in the Quest Log has been cut, just to make things simpler.

- Very very small dialogue changes to Lilith's testimony in the Chapter 7 trial and the Chapter 8 "Mitzi Breakdown" scenes. Just stuff to help pacing and make characters actions feel more natural.

- The Major General now has a custom text typer sound and his sprite has been adjusted to better match his portrait art.

- Flik's fell down a set of stairs

So yeah, there's a lot to do!! Hopefully it'll be enough to keep you guys busy until Chapter 9!
