Whispers from the Writing Nook
Added 2025-08-31 16:03:23 +0000 UTCThe coffee and tea are flowing. Writing came easily to me this week, despite the challenges at home with childcare.
5 entire chapters written, and back from my alpha reader. I still need to edit and schedule them, but I blew my goal out of the water. This almost doubles the length of book 3.
September is upon us, and I set a goal with a group of friends to write 1k a day for the entire month. We’ll see how it goes, but having a group doing it with me should make it fun. Sable and the Cat’s story is rushing forward, and I’m holding on, getting the words down as quickly as they come.
Indigo is speaking up and flying into all sorts of places as she grows.
I cannot wait to see how this all goes.
My goal for this week is to get at least 3 chapters done and edit everything currently on my plate.
Harvest season is here in my garden. I’ve already put up 7 pints of tomato sauce and frozen a ton of diced peppers. More tomatoes are coming in but the bulk is behind me with those. Peppers are just turning red, and this is the most I’ve already harvested so far.
The flowers are showstoppers, taking the prize for being attention-grabbing. The colors this year just pop. I’m taking lots of pictures so when the darkness of January arrives, I have something bright to remind myself of the warmer weather.
My countdown to launch keeps reminding me that time doesn’t stop for anyone.
